First, I intend to work on something absolutely world-changing in the sphere of education and technology. I don't care if that something is working on my own projects or being a part of a company. I don't care if I am working at the preschool level or the college level. I am a part of making a world-class education available to more people than ever before. Second, I intend to have regular successful interactions with fantastic people. A successful interaction is one where both parties feel loved and comforted by coming together, and possibly produce useful work. This could take the forms of working with people, having people over for food, and playing with people. Third, I intend to live with my family outside the US in a non-English-speaking country for at least a year. Top picks for language spoken in said country are Spanish, Chinese, or French. Fourth, I intend to personally generate enough income that my husband can do whatever he likes with his time. So enough to cover expenses plus some savings. Fifth, I intend to be a fantastic mom to my kids. I intend to be patient but firm when they test me. I intend to be there for them when they need me. I intend to enjoy the time we spend together and to pay attention to them and to nurture their bodies and spirits. And my overarching manifestation for 2011 is that I intend to be STRONG so that I can work harder and PLAY harder. |

Do you remember ALG's IM threads? He always had an action plan like daily meditation on each of his intentions. I'll probably have to pick up some sort of comparable habitual focus to bring these about. Just the thought of it scares and excites me. |

can do whatever he likes with his time. Since I'm a very lazy male, I am going to suggest this one to my wife Btw...I don't really check out this IM sub-forum, but this thread sort of caught my eye, and I understood why. It became obvious when I opened the thread and read the list. The second point, about the successful interactions with fantastic people, is what I have been avoiding my whole life, or at least I have not been aware how important this really is. So, in case you are interested in how to increase your chances to in this area, here is a free resource that might interest you. I have read this trilogy twice and it is the most profound piece of information that I've read in the last 24 years of reading self-improvement stuff. If you do read it, let me know what you thought of it. My big TOE: awakening, discovery ... - Google Books Good luck with everything, I'm sure you will do your best to bring these intentions into your physical reality! | |

So, progress update... 1. I got my laptop back, my cousin has been fixing it up for me. It has a new OS, new development toolchain, replaced DVD drive, replaced fan, and a fix for the bad heat dissipation problem with this model. I researched some educational game companies on wikipedia. I'm a bit unsure the best direction to proceed right now, if I should work on skill development or get a job or start a blog or work on projects, and not entirely sure how to find clarity. 2. I hosted a great fire juggling event at my house last week that might become a weekly thing when the weather cooperates. I tried to put together a bday party for my husband but everything fell through and then everybody got sick. I got hit particularly hard, I think the social stress weakened me some. 3. Not too much progress here. I put a wallpaper on my laptop of people juggling in Barcelona. It makes me happy. ![]() 4. There's been a bit of progress in my affiliate marketing business and we'll soon be ready to test an idea that's been in development for over a year. If it works, this alone could solve all my cash flow problems. 5. While I was sick I watched a bunch of Super Nanny to get focused on parenting technique. I've started keeping a todo list again, listing my intentions at the top. I'm planning to get that imported into google docs so I can access it from any of my many household computers. |

So one of my IM goals that I am playing with is to live with my family in Barcelona (originally stated as "abroad" but I am falling more and more in love with Barcelona) for at least a year. And I'm poking around the internet, researching housing options, job options, and local juggle clubs. But I have no freaking idea how I would actually get to Barcelona from my house in Austin. Yet I figure I should just go ahead and manifest this in the most easy and awesome way possible, right? I think I'll see how close I can get to this: I'm scanning the internet checking out some awesome project and I click on the company's careers page and they are hiring in Barcelona for a position that I would be perfect for. They agree to start me on a part-time at home basis. After a couple of months, they offer me a full time position in Barcelona, and assist me with getting all of my work visas applied for and even find me a lovely terrace apartment. Then a friend of mine in Austin happens to need a place to stay and offers to pay the mortgage on my house while I am gone. I'm even able to leave it furnished instead of having to put my furniture in storage. HA HA, I will be laughing so hard when all this actually happens. |

I'm a little confused, because I thought I wanted to be paid for developing educational software but now I'm not sure on that point. Because I have found that Khan Academy, one of my idols and a front runner for revolutionizing math and science education, is accepting volunteer programming help. And with that finally opening up, I feel that most of my programming efforts should go there. But as to how to make money or move to Barcelona I have no clue right now. Well, I guess part of the fun of IM is finding out how it will unfold. I'll just have to be open to inspiration. |

I found something really cool yesterday, a blog written by a mother with kids almost exactly the ages of my kids who moved her family to Barcelona for a year. In fact, her year in Barcelona is ending this month, so I have a whole year of experiences to read about by someone who has done exactly what I intend to do. Adventures in Barcelona |
