Personally I do not subscribe to the popular idea that the subconscious mind somehow is clever enough to hear the word NOT and say "I am not going to recognise the word not", why would it decide to not hear this one word - "not"? To say the subconscious mind can filter out certain words would be to say the subconscious mind has reasoning ability and of course we know it doesn't. Of course the subconscious mind goes about manifesting whatever predominant programs it contains from our thought and feelings we are programming into it, consciously or unconsciously. To illustrate my point further would the people who contend the subconscious mind doesn't hear the word 'not' say things like "I am not rich", "I am not healthy" and say that okay the subconscious mind is not hearing the word not.? I think not. Malika |

Your subconscious mind is the feeling mind. It doesn't respond to words, it just associates feelings. So you say "I do not want to have a car accident" the subconscious mind picks up the words "car accidents" and that causes a feeling. Alright, take the following 2 sentences: "I do not want a car accident" "I would like to arrive perfectly safe" Which one feels better? Now that "I do not want a car accident" turns into nervousness instantly, and boom, you just greatly increased your odds of a car accident. |

but what if you already have a subconscious fear of having a car accident? saying that you wish to arrive safely may bring that subconscious fear to the surface and you're back to square one again. btw i'm not disagreeing with you, just acknowledging how difficult it is to get a grip on the subconscious and make it work for you. |

But it's not going to be subconscious, it's all going to be brought up to your consciousness. The subconscious mind is a storehouse for memories along with the emotional mind. Think of it like a computer. You have your windows open (conscious mind) and your hard drive with data stored (subconscious mind.) In medical terms it's called the limbic system. Your conscious mind needs a bit of data, so it goes into your "Driving" folder. Now if there's a car accident file in there it brings up that car accident file into your conscious mind, and that car accident file sets up a feeling and then a vibration. Nothing in your subconscious mind is going to affect physical reality unless that subconscious thought is brought into your consciousness. Even if you have a bad car accident memory, if that memory isn't brought to the surface, nothing changes. but your conscious mind isn't necessarily powerful enough to pick and choose which subconscious beliefs come to the surface and which don't. remember that it's estimated that the mind is 90% subconscious and 10% conscious. |

I'm not saying you necessarily have to go in there and dig up all sorts of old ****, but when something comes up during the day analyze it and most of the time we can find a better viewpoint. Either way, if you spent like a week focusing on the positive aspects of life and focusing on what you want to happen it will become a habit. For example if you're driving and the negative memory of a car accident comes up immediately shift your focus on what you want to happen (a safe trip.) appreciate the fact that the car companies installed so many safety features such as seatbelts and airbags and that the chances of something serious happening are slim-to-none. "I've been in a car thousands upon thousands of times, and only once did I have an accident. Why am I choosing to focus on the one time that there was an accident? Millions upon millions of people drive daily and there are very few accidents. And most of the accidents that happen are only small fender benders. I know that even the people in those fenderbenders create their own reality and the only way that they can get into situations like that is by focusing on not-wanted things, so why I would choose to focus on a not-wanted thing is beyond me, so i choose to focus on the billions upon billions of safe trips that happen weekly" Boom. Done. Next belief? Yanno. | |

Interesting discussion, you're both making great valid points, The way I see it we bring everything into physical manifestation through Strong powerful feelings, thoughts are like electrical pulses firing away in the neurons of the brain, whereas when we add emotion to our thinking this is what pulses out around us in our energy field creating a blueprint of the thing we desire and with continued strong focus of emotion it eventually becomes a reality on a physical level, so for example if one stresses out about having a car accident they can simply get into the feeling of whenever you drive your car you are confident alert, aware of all happening on the road, how you love driving, surrounded by other careful, courteous drivers and importantly THE END RESULT that you always arrive at your destination safe and sound. It's all about emotions. Malika |

The specifics of the words don't matter one bit unless you are listening to subliminal recordings. When you are consciously doing it, what only matters is the way the statement ends up making you feel. It's the feeling that matters. |
