1. Once upon a time, back in 2006, I stated an intention in my personal blog. The intention was that in five years time I would be heading a team of lawyers in a global MNC. Then I forgot all about it. 2. Now it is 2010. I am part of a team of lawyers, but certainly not heading it. My department is very top-heavy with senior people, my team is definitely so, and logically there should be no way I can be heading a team by 2011. 3. Then recently I was reminded of my old intention. Why? In a recent thread (about two weeks ago), I posted many excerpts from my old blog (I was discussing LOA experiments that I had done back in 2006 and 2007) and I came across my old intention. 4. Just for the heck of it, I decided to meditate on it again. At the same time, I manifested for a whopping salary increase. 5. Two days ago, a headhunter called me out of the blue. No idea how he came to know me. 6. Of course you can guess the next part of the story. 7. And that the budget was .... enormous. I mean, really enormous, way above the market. 8. I discussed the job specs for this role. It appeared that I was a rather junior candidate for this role. Also I have no official experience (managing a team of lawyers) But after considering my CV, the headhunter felt that I had a decent chance to squeeze in. 8. Why was the salary so bizarrely high? Two factors. The first is that the company has been suffering from bad press at the moment (something to do with a major oil spill that's been in the news a lot) 9. The second factor - in my part of the world, there is a highly publicised lawsuit between the company and some of its ex-employees, who had quit in a huff. 10. Consequently, the company is having difficulties finding people who are willing to join. 11. End result is that the company is willing to consider throwing piles of money at any suitable job candidate, who's willing to join them, and help them sort out their legal troubles. 12. They're so desperate that they'll even consider .... Junior Little Me. Even though (a) I have no management experience, and (b) I'm not even from the same industry (oil & gas). 13. And I'm very happy to consider accepting their oodles of cash, and the new challenge of managing a team of lawyers. 14. If this works out, this will be right on time, for the intention I stated in 2006. ---------------- Lots of things which you might think are impossible are really not. The universe has its ways. Congratulations, ALG! That's a very inspiring story. I hope things work out well for you. Don't worry about experience for the new role. Everyone has to start from somewhere. As you do the job, you will learn. I'm looking forward to your update later on |

What's the real prize for you? The new challenge or is it simply the journey of manifesting? I get the impression that your manifestations are more than just about money. I might be wrong, just wondering what the real gift is for you. |

If I'm reading this correctly congrats aren't in order just yet - you're still just a candidate for the position right? Sounds like you've got a good shot at it though, and I wish you the best of luck if it's a position you really want. |

Thank you all .... JoePike is correct. I have not got the job yet, but I am in with a chance. The company does want to see me - they are trying to arrange an interview date when my potential new boss (who's based in another country) will be in town. Anyway, I am just tickled by the fact that a five-year intention could stay dormant for 4 years, and then, in the fifth year, more or less automatically start coming alive again. To me, this seems to suggest the possibility of creating a lifetime calendar of future distant intentions, not just things you want by next week, or next month, but quite distant intentions, like what your life will look like when you're 45, or 50, or 55, or 60, or 100. Anyway, we'll see ...... Happy to stay where I am; happy to go too. And right now, just pleased that these possibilities are all opening up for me. |

Congrats are part of the manifestation process, I know ALG can manifest by himself but extra intentions going his way can't hurt. So i reiterate my congrats. Plus the simple possibility of getting the desired outcome must be thrilling. All the best!

Hey ALG...interestingly, today I wanted to ask you a question...first thing i opened was this thread..... I read several days ago many pages of your story...manifesting houses, jobs, raises and the like... One of your threads said something like this: "I decided to manifest a new job for my wife" (sorry, i looked back, but couldn't find the exact quote today) but your wife ended up with more money and fewer hours !!woot woot! Question is: can we manifest things for other people? ...even people within the "inner circle", like a spouse? or children? I was telling my husband the other day that he too has to do the "work" in terms of LOA and manifesting... I keep saying "Its on the way!" and he's in a "Can't buy that, its too expensive" mood..... He has recently lost his job, while i am attempting to "create" for the family... I am seeing some things manifest, there is no doubt...but some days i feel like his negativity pulls harder than my positivity does.... Thoughts? Observations? Did your wife join you in the manifestation, or did you create it for her? Thanks so much, |

Sometimes I feel like your blocking the process, because you don't want others to learn...or maybe I am just reading into things too much. I mean you the right to do that of course, but I personally get more out of peoples process. I'm happy for you, whatever the case. Last edited by ellie; 09-22-2010 at 04:23 AM.

As you told me a few months ago, it takes time. You said you've been at the LOA for about 4 or so years I believe, and it looks like all of that mental effort is paying off extremely well. Great job, I'm happy for you. |

You get a notebook, any kind of inexpensive one is fine. Then you write down what your life is like in a set period of time. I did five years, but you could do a year, six months, whatever. I think the longer period is probably better for major lifestyle changes, but there's no reason you have to do it that way. You can put the date at the start of the notebook to make it clear, and don't write "in five years' time", but the actual DATE. So 22 September 2015, for example. You write the date as if it IS that date. Then you write down what your life is like, as if it is completely in manifestation. Like, "I live on a beautiful country property on the edge of the suburbs, and have a professional groundkeeper and gardener who helps me look after my extensive gardens and plants and lawns" or "I am in excellent health. Any health worries or concerns I once had are gone or completely controlled. I feel great and I'm full of energy!" or "My weight is consistantly right around a setpoint of 60kg," or "I am in a healthy, loving romantic relationship that is mutually satisfying and based in trust and affection," or whatever. Then, when you've written down all the things you can think of about how your life is, you take the notebook and put it in a large envelope and seal it, writing the date on the outside, put it away somewhere, and don't look at it again until the date set or after. People who have done this say that what normally happens is that by the time they find or remember the envelope, when they open it and read what they wrote, most or all of it has come to pass. I can't vouch for it, because I started mine about a year ago, and I honestly can't remember all the specifics of what I wrote in it, but it seemed worth a try, and the "out of sight, out of mind" aspect seemed like a good idea. (Hope I'm not hijacking the thread. This seemed appropriate.

| Dunno. Might as well give it a try, though. I don't see why 22 September 2015 is necessarily any different from 22 December 2010. Some things do sometimes take longer to unfold, because we always make a story to support things (ego gets very freaked out when too many things "don't make sense" within the context of the "story" its weaving), but really, there's no practical reason why they have to.
