Really? Made me feel as if I was just something on her "to do" list. Not to be paid attention to, or to really read what I wrote, just something to answer to and cross it off the list...

LOL, it's just always nice to have your feelings confirmed. Nothing personal against themaster, but I also learned to just scroll past his posts. They were usually SO long and I would start to read them and my eyes would glaze over and I'd have to move on. Long posts are fine, but there was always something that just didn't sit right with whatever he was saying.

I spent an afternoon perusing the epic rockchick thread once, and that was really enough. Then I saw the new thread and thought to myself...really???

Yepps...that is precisely how I would describe it. I didn't have a rationale as to why it didn't feel right, it just didn't.

I feel kinda bad for Rockchick! I'm worried she'll be seriously upset over the banning... I worry that she'll see it as another rejection of her... or another reason why she is worthless etc. etc. For someone who already has self esteem issues, a banning could be serious slap in the face!

Yeah, I get why the mods did it...and I'm sure they tried to be sensitive about it too (I assumed she was PM'd several times with warnings...so I guess it wouldn't have been a complete shock to her)! It just sort of struck me that it would be very hard on a person like RC to be banned from a forum like this one.

TM, I'm sure, is enlightened enough to get over a banning

I don't know... The most "enlightened" people with regards to bannings so far have been spammers... they don't readily return... others? Not so much...

And who knows, she may build real personal power for herself, and come back at some point.
That's a good perspective

I don't know if she will, she might go another forum to vent that she always get banned on forums

I really hope, it will just help her to get out in the world and figure it all out. I would love her to find a resolution to her issues.

In someways I am glad she is banned...looking at it from Angela's perspective...plus it did get pretty frustrating trying to help out, and there being an excuse for everything. But then again I still somehow relate to her....strange indeed. She is an extreme of my own bad behaviours.

I also hope she doesn't seek further help from "the master".

No comment on themaster (other than to note that like others, I had him on ignore, mostly because his posts tended to be very long and I got tired of scrolling past them in every thread in which he participated), but as for Rockchick, I very clearly saw aspects of myself mirrored in her, in a big way. Seeing her in action helped me to own some things about myself (a past version of myself, for the most part, but still a few things in the present that I could see and deal with).

I knew that when I no longer needed that mirror and the specific issues were sorted, she'd disappear from my reality (I never put her on ignore, for what it's worth). And so she has. From a SR point of view, it's a sign that the things in myself that she mirrored are no longer things I need to look at.

Yes, this is a post entirely about me. Everything is about me. (Hey, subjective, right?) But I like the illusion that someone else might read this and go, "Oh, right, yeah, I get that..." or something along those lines.

Actually, on a couple of occasions, she commented about how she didn't really want to keep coming here, but people kept replying to the thread about how nothing worked for her and she kept having to come back and answer every time (i.e., defend her worldview). If we go with an IM explanation, she actually intended to be somehow "released" from the "obligation" of posting here (because she clearly didn't believe or understand that she could walk away at any time, all on her own self-direction).
