Steve said: There can only be one subjective reality. There are no other people “out there” having their own subjective experiences. There is only you. And your subjective reality is the only one there is. What did he mean by this?? |

...you are your reality?! Everything that happens is in relation to you and your experience of it, your intent towards or away from it, your beliefs, your actions...everything that is you, makes up your reality and only you can know that reality. So for you, only YOUR reality exists. This is what I took from what Steve said. Not sure though, anyone else with any ideas?

[QUOTE=jojo;52410 So for you, only YOUR reality exists. This is what I took from what Steve said. Not sure though, anyone else with any ideas?[/QUOTE] Yes, but please consider that by understanding other people's realities, we advance spiritually. In this age of high tech communications, there is no excuse for ignoring other peoples' 'realities' in third world countries, for example. You expand your own consciousness by truly and compassionately getting to understand where others are coming from. To realize you have your own subjective reality doesn't mean that others' subjective realities don't matter, don't count, don't exist, etc. |

I think he meant that reality is only the set of experiences and perceptions that exist in your mind. Things are only 'real' according to how they exist in your mind, so nothing else anyone perceives matter, reality is in your mind.

| This is your thought ... i.e. you created the reality that "everybody has a different reality in their minds". You even created a shant121 to come and post this reply into your thread :P. but really, thats what Steve means.

I'm still having trouble grasping what Steve was trying to say. It sounds like he was saying that nobody exists except for me. That would mean that I am the only thinking being, and everybody else are just manifestations of my consciousness. I think that's so silly. Shant121 said"You even created a shant121 to come and post this reply into your thread :P. but really, thats what Steve means".........obviously Shant121 existed way before this post. I didn't "create" him.....riiight? Last edited by SecretSeven; 03-22-2007 at 05:19 PM. |

The pivotal revelation is that you are a manifestation of your consciousness. Just like everybody else, who are also manifestation of your (their) consciousness. | |

(Note: I can't say I'm entirely convinced I understand the word "ego", which is why I don't use it. But I'm going to define it as something I can't explain and answer your question anyways.) Presumably. My ego wouldn't be able to tell. But, near as I can tell, this ego is having experiences, thoughts, memories, and ideas. Since this ego is a manifestation of the universe, and since I don't see anything distinguishing it from other egos, then presumably other egos also have experiences, thoughts, memories, and ideas. |

There are not 6 billion people on the planet. There isn't even a planet, unless they specifically come into your awareness. You cannot have awareness of every single projection all at once, you will notice you can only manage a few at a time. You sit in your living room and observe, some people (maybe friends/family) things like a TV, walls etc, but you have no awareness of the 6 billion people living all over the world or the world as a planet. If you were floating around in space, you'd be aware of the spaceship you were in and the earth seen from the window and space, but you wouldn't be aware of your living room and the 6 billion people on earth. This is why present moment awareness is very important to your existance here and the key to SR. HTH Jeff |

What did you mean when you said there are not six billion people on the planet?? Are all humans just projections? Would that meant that both you and I are just projections? Sorry, this question might be redundant but I'm just try to grasp this subjctive reality thing. Last edited by SecretSeven; 03-23-2007 at 09:05 PM. |

when you sleep and dream, the characters are projections, you can feel when you dream, interact, you can even touch things and feel them, it feels real... and you could swear it is real... remember being chased by someone or something and you run? and then you wake up, aha.... it was just a dream .. "it all happens in my mind" and when you are awake, you call this, a waking reality perhaps one day you wake up from this 'waking reality' too aha... it was a dream too .... and then you wake up from that too aha... it was a collective dream (i am not sure what i am talking about Last edited by magickmystik; 03-23-2007 at 09:10 PM. |

i copy n paste this "There are actually seven states of awareness. Deep sleep is the first; dreaming is the second; then the third stage is waking; the forth stage is meditation; the fifth is called cosmic consciousness, which is when you have that internal experience of meditation in deep sleep, dreaming, and waking, so you are established in that state even while in action. Then beyond cosmic consciousness is the sixth stage of consciousness which is God consciousness, where you become aware of the spirit in the objects of your perception. So you look at a flower and you can feel the presence of divinity within it. Or you look at a telephone or a table or a shoe and you can feel the presence of the infinite in it. The infinite is everywhere. And the seventh stage is the ever present witnessing awareness in the object of experience. They fuse and become one, and when that happens then you experience enlightenment--you see the whole world as an expression of yourself and you see that the ground of your being is also the ground of all existence." go figure it all i can say... until you experience it first hand, you won't understand it Last edited by magickmystik; 03-23-2007 at 09:22 PM. |
