Funny I/M (?) Story

Yesterday, I helped a friend move. I got a ride from another friend, and we went to her old place to help pack, and we found out she was at the new place, and wouldn't be back for almost an hour, so we decided to go to Earth Fare, a natural food store here. I picked up a couple of things, and got $10 cash back. Normally, I'm very careful about putting my money in my wallet, but for some reason, I folded it up with the receipt and just stuck it in my purse.

We helped my friend pack & clean for several hours, and my other friend dropped me off at a store close to my house when we were finished. I live across town from Earth Fare, like 25 minutes away. I got what I needed to get, and when I was checking out, there was a guy behind me, talking on his cell phone. He dropped something, and I picked it up for him and put it on the conveyor, and gave him a smile when I did. He had on an Earth Fare apron, and he said, "Were you at Earth Fare earlier?" I said, "Yep", and he said, "Here" - and pulled my receipt, with my $10, out of his pocket and handed it to me!

I just said, "Wow, great! Thanks!" and walked out. I kept thinking, What are the odds?! I've gone in that Earth Fare maybe 3 times, and I'd never been in the little store close my house before. They're pretty far away from each other, and it was hours in between. The whole story just makes me laugh.

My Dad said when the guy saw me at the second store, he probably figured he was on one of those "What would you do?" TV shows - because he did pick up my money and keep it at Earth Fare! Apparently, I missed the pocket in my purse when I just hurriedly stuffed it in there (or thought I stuffed it in there).
