I Found a Magic Rock

I went canoeing this weekend and skipped a bunch of stones along the way. Often we'd say, "hey look at this one," show it then throw it. I picked up one rock and immediately felt a strange connection with it. I couldn't throw it. "This one is special," I said, "I'm supposed to keep it."

It wasn't an amazing looking rock. It was brownish with what looked kind of like ink blots, and the surface was smooth and fit my hand perfectly. It felt like it had a powerful energy to it.

I forgot the stone in the canoe and a friend of mine ended up seeing it and grabbing it. The next day I was observing the stone in the sun and it revealed its subtle sparkles. Then I found the image of a plump baby with its arms out. Then I found an image of a woman leaning over with a bucket. Then a man with a bushy mustache, bushy eyebrows, and a wickedly thick and wavy hairdo. Then a tall thin elfish/alien looking figure. I just turn the stone in circles in the sun and face after face.

I pointed out the faces to the friend who found the rock in the canoe. He noticed them too. And he even found a few more on his own and showed them to me. This simple little rock, about the size of my palm, is full of faces and bodies. In one place, there is a little set of tiny grooves that makes a smiley face. Most of the images are pleasant to me, but sometimes it seems like there are "dark" figures in the stone too. When I look at it, I don't just see it, I feel it too.

I could go on about the synchronicities that day, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any comments to make about this. What are your thoughts? Any experiences like this? What should I do with it now?

My understanding is thus.. we have incarnated in every conceivable configuration and every conceivable way

So really, every face you see.. is a face of you! (even the rock)

Here's what I'd do.. find a "crystal" expert and ask them what it is.. if they just tell you it's pyrite and has normal special abilities.. don't "dismay" just like the rock for your reasons

But you may find out that you were attracted to that crystal/rock because it is able to convey meaning by its "known" properties

A perfectly 'ordinary', mass-market 1 1/2 inch geode came to me unexpectedly a few days ago, one I hope to make meditative use of (I'd been vaguely intending for quartz for some time now, so I prefer to think this non-coincidental). I'll have to check it for faces, pareidolia be damned!

@the master - - thanks for the thoughts. i did feel as though they were connected to me (or me) in some way. there is a strong feeling attached to each image, and in some ways they represent aspects of my personality. I'm still looking for more. It's definately special to me, but I would be interested to see what others have to intuit from it. AKA - "known properties" - I haven't done much research into this. Maybe this is a sign that I should.

@wax frog - - I thought about meditating with the rock, too. I'm just keeping it close right now, asking it questions, staying open. With your geode, do you have any specific meditative plans for it.

Another note, I've showed it to some more people. They found more faces, also some cats. There are now two guys wearing aviator sunglasses.

I'll need to get another - I opened this one and found solid brownish stone with just a few meager veins of quartz. Not what I had in mind...
