I have read his blog and it seems pretty authentic to me -anonymity is important because he mentions his work place and family - by being anonymous he can be free to reflect on his feelings and such -this is not uncommon for bloggers. I am just glad he shares it.

I wonder how much of the problem comes from the word "Law" in the Law of Attraction and those who teach it in a by the numbers this is the way it's done format. It's about as far away from a "law of the universe" as you can get, it's a faith; a new "lie of success" (for the Tony Robbins crowd).

Really the law of attraction comes dangerously close to the old "power of positive thinking", specifically designed to appeal to our "the world revolves around me" nature. It's a remarkably self-centered belief system; the sun once again revolving around a flat earth ruled by one True God.

A focus on LoA causes one to experience the thousands of syncronicities (sp?) that pass through daily life but now they are conciously aware of them, giving the appearance of attracting these events. If it works for you as a belief system the stick with it. But to preach it on par with any of the base rules of physics is irresponsible.

I wanted to comment on the whole "raped little girl" debate that was happening a few pages ago. Sorry if that's no longer the main topic, but I failed to read any posts that addressed this very important point, to wit:

The foundation of all of these metaphysical concepts, to include LoA, I-M, subjective reality, etc... is the theory that the entire Universe and our belief that we are each and every one of us SEPARATE beings is, in fact, ILLUSION.

One cannot go around touting metaphysical theories and concepts without first accepting the very basis of metaphysics in the first place. This is why it is so difficult for most people to wrap their minds around. And until a person either mostly or completely believes in this concept, then it will be impossible for them to conceive that a "little girl" attracted such a negative experience as a rape to herself. The very idea will of course be offensive to any "individual" who continues to buy into the "universal" Illusions of Separation.

When one can begin to look at "others," if not yet as THEMSELVES, but at least as fellow souls/spirits on a journey that entails thousands upon thousands of earthly incarnations (lifetimes), then one can begin to see MORE than simply a "12-year-old girl" or a "40-year-old child molester." For all one knows, these individuals may be completely reversed in relative human experience. The molester may be quite new to the human experience, or more probably simply the product of very bad parenting. The "girl" may possibly have just left a lifetime where "she" was a child molesting man, who, upon his passing, realized he has just created massive negative karma that must be neutralized in order for his soul to progress.

So, this spirit then reincarnates as a female, placing the INTENTION into the subconscious mind to manifest/attract the rape/murder experience upon himself in order that his spirit can learn EMPATHY and avoid such behavior in future incarnations. The "girl's" earthly ego-self is completely unaware of this, but her spirit's higher self has planned it from the get-go. It's not that complicated. How many times have you been in a restaurant and been warned by your server NOT to touch the "hot" plate he has just placed in front of you, only to ignore the warning and touch it anyway because you simply had to experience the pain for yourself in order to fully understand what he meant?

As long as there are souls who have a karmic need to experience negative events, there will be rapings and murders and wars and firings, ad nauseum.

If you wish the world to experience less of these events, then put your energies towards creating POSITIVE experiences for everyone. The murdering child rapist did not incarnate onto the planet with the purpose of raping little children. He got lost somewhere along the way; most probably due to neglectful parents or being an abused child himself. Whatever the reason, this person did not receive the proper love and attention from the world, and built up much anger as a result, culminating in the tragic rape and murder of a seemingly innocent child.

The solution is NOT to find these people and "bash them over the head" as one poster put it; but rather to confine and study them to ascertain how they became such a monster in the first place. When society finally stops being lazy about crime and truly begins to stop it at its very roots, then you will begin to manifest the world that you claim to long for.

Nevertheless, so long as humanity insists on supporting victimhood and Illusions of Separation, then these tragedies will continue to dominate the headlines.

Never forget that each and every criminal and victim is a unique and beautiful Point of Expression of the Single Cosmic Consciousness that is God. God has created the SpaceTime universe in order to experience the ILLUSION of Otherness/Duality in order that He may become MORE than what He is.

The Lunsford girl IS God. Her killer IS also God. All of the posters on this forum debating the issue ARE also God.

Imagine a universe comprised of nothing but Sky and God is the Air. Without God, there is no Sky. therefore God is All That Is, and God is Self-aware.

However, being a Oneness, God has no "outside" perception of Himself, and wishes to know Himself from "other" perspectives in order to grow. He creates the Great Duality illusion, or SpaceTime universe out of His own conscousness, and immerses Himself into every single particle of physical matter.

Now the endless "sky" is filled with "bubbles," each of which contains a small portion of the air, which is the God consciousness. And each and every portion of that consciousness can now perceive all of the other bubbles as "separate" from itself. Over the passage of time, each container begins to believe it is a separate consciousness simply because it perceives reality from a completely unique viewpoint from every other bubble, and there you have the beginning of the human ego and Illusions of Separation.

The bubble containers are illusory products of the imagination of God and the belief of the ego consciousness contained within. Even when we "die" and the physical bubble "bursts," we do not return yet to the Oneness of God because our egos continue to believe in our individuality, thereby creating a "non-physical" bubble container that the ego is happy to occupy for as long as is necessary.

Many of you already accept this concept and believe it, but many of you clearly do not. It does not matter one way or the other, for whatever the Truth is, it will win out in the end. Nevertheless, I submit that the solution to the problem of "evil" in this world remains the same, even if one is an atheist. And that is that if society TRULY wishes to prevent such tragedies in the future, it must act now to arrest and/or change the behaviors that create the criminal personalities from manifesting in the first place. That will require some major changes in how we view parental rights in society, and society must be willing to accept responsibility unto itself for the proper raising, nurturing, and education of EVERY child on this planet. The "NIMBY" approach we have taken is the root of most of this problem, and our unwillingness to ensure that every soul entering the planet has the proper care and respect it is due.

You can judge all you want to and shake your heads as you lop off the "evil" ones, but nothing will ever change so long as the only requirement to bear and raise children in our society is a working reproductive system.

THINK positively and proactively about real change in this arena, and you WILL SEE and EXPERIENCE less and less of these events, and an unprecedented maturing of humanity. Or.... continue to point the finger away from yourself and you will continue to see more of the same.

Speaking as someone who has experienced the sudden death of a loved one and someone who has experienced being raped and beaten, this talk of reincarnation and past lives does nothing to ease the pain. Nothing!
Let's get real. We only have experience of this one life we are living. The person who raped the child intented to rape her. This innocent child NO WAY intended to be raped and murdered. This is happening to innocent children everywhere. Those who rape and murder are seeing it as acceptable in certain circumstances such as WAR. They have being seeing it and experiencing it since childhood. The only way to stop this is by looking at WHY this is happening.
It begins with the de-humanizing of the 'evil' doers. They are outcast. Punished, even killed. Completely de-humanized giving rise to the evil from so called good people. We are human beings without exception. We are all a product of our experience without exception. We are one human race.
Others de-humanize the human experience. Well, my father was killed 40 odd years ago and it still hurts. He never came back and neither will the 12yr old girl. Her parents will suffer for the rest of their lives. It changes who you are, especially the children. These are the true consequences of intentions and manifestations. We are creating it all from the mass consciousness and until we accept responsibilty for everything and not just the good things then it will continue.

It's a religion and you can't convince anyone of anything in religious circumstances cause the only person you can convince is yourself with the results mostly..

Anyway as you do I keep a log/documentation.. but mostly I just keep a log in my mind.. (it's how I've chosen to integrate theories I test.. I run them through my brain for analysis) it's hard to exactly explain but bottom-line things I believe and am or testing just gets integrated into daily thinking..

But like you I do have some records of experiments/experiences and results.. no good for any actual scientist most likely (someone could always find a skeptical view) but good for me to watch my change and or analyze

I totally believe in the LoA, good and bad. It has and continues to work for me so much that now I keep a journal of everything positive and negative I attract (just to keep myself in alignment). But I just have a quick story here. Take it as you wish.

My brother met his wife while in the Navy at a port in South Africa. Our family (as much as I hate to admit) was pretty oblivious and naive to how bad things were over in her country. She told us horror stories of friends being gunned down while driving to school... robberies.. etc. Her biggest fear was that someday, something awful-- like being raped, attacked, or killed would in fact, happen to her. Then my brother proposed, and she and my brother moved to the states, to Gainesville, FL.

Super Bowl Sunday, my brother went to a party, and she stayed behind to study for a class she was taking. She took a shower, walked out of the bathroom, and noticed a window that was opened slightly. After closing it, she turned around to find a man standing with a black mask on and holding a tire iron. That man brutally beat her, raped her, and beat her some more until she was unconscious. Bite marks covered her whole body. He left when he thought he had killed her. But she didn't die.

This obviously is a horrible story and has been one we all have tried to move past. Thankfully we all (including her) pretty much have. But my point is, the ONE thing she was MOST afraid of, that she had given SOO SOO much thought and attention towards.... came rushing right into her life in the heart of suburbian Gainesville, FL in an neighborhood virtually free of violence or crime.

So as some of you guys said earlier, I believe you cannot praise all the good things that are attracted by the LoA and completely ignore the bad, saying, "The LoA doesn't work! I would never want this and it's a bunch of B.S!!"

I would never say that she (or the little girl) "asked for" this, I would simply say that she "gave energy to" this sort of event and that energy was delivered accordingly.

And while this little girl of course would never mean to attract rape and death into her life...maybe it was the influence of her parents worst fears.. or society's... what have you... that unfortunately brought it to life for her. Just a thought... not saying it's right or wrong. It's just a thought.

Obviously I can't ever totally explain such an event and I wouldn't claim to have all the answers. But maybe there is more to the story and we are just now on a more wide scale starting to scratch the surface of this sort of "enlightenment." I'm reading, "The Intention Experiment" at the moment. Thoughts are much more powerful than we might have once thought. lol

We don't want war... but then send "our children" over to die... or kill someone else's "children."

Isn't it always possible that the little girl did attract it? I don't know anything about the story of the girl that got raped but your fears can manifest as easily as your hopes. i am probably going to get flamed for saying that, but i am just saying that it is a possibility. I have certainly attracted a lot of negative things just because I was afraid they were going to happen and they did.

But that funding is absolutely dwarfed by the vast amount of money available for commercial and militariy research. When I worked in a research facility in the US the first what everyone tried was to get funding through DARPA, that's basically the MoD spending obscene amounts of money on research that might someday however slightly give them an military advantage. And of course the big tech companies throw some money around.

Since I have done research, I have become rather sceptical about it. I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, or that they purposly lie for more money, however I take care not to take it too serious. Research in general is just extremely difficult, it's difficult to fully prove things, especially in complex systems, like the human body, or nanotechnology that's starting to border on quatum mechenics. But I'm digressing again.

But some people just cant take responsibility for their lives, instead of looking at their own lives and making it better, they try to find every reason why it doesnt work cause they want to hold on to their belief and be right about it.

Just look at the people that are successful in their lives they use intention and law of attraction without even knowing about it, they just think the right way.

The only difference is now we wont be talking about it with friends and so on. We dont have prove to other people it is real, we just have to live our lives by it.

LOA it is the only answer to life. A man here in AZ was extremely fearful for years of hiking in the desert. He was afraid of getting hurt and noone knowing where he was. He always told someone where he was hiking just in case. Well, one day he decides to go for a short hike but didnt tell anyone where he was going. he fell in some rocks and got his arm caught and had to cut it off to get free. The man admits he brought it on himself. The Bible is full of stories of the law of attraction. The bible is not about an angry god who punishes us but a god who gives whatever we desire. True Love gives us whatever we want. This is how god is a loving god. I dont beleive there is anything ruling us or above us and we are not above or ruling over anything else. We do get what we put our energy into, whether we think it is good or bad. A 9 year old boy was killed in a bathroom by a strange man. This boys parents had told their son his entire life to be careful of strangers. His parents had a huge fear of their boy being hurt by a stranger, the boy believed his parents and feared all strangers. This boy got what he feared. It is very sad to even think this is true, but I know it is. To make a long story short. I have had many experiences in the LOA and I did bring to me everything in my life whether I liked it or not, good bad... right wrong.... beautiful or ugly.

Someone show me where any of the significant writings about the Law of Attraction state that people attract what they fear and that is why they wind up murdered in a bathroom at nine years old.

The Old Testament is full of stories about an angry god who punishes. And the Bible also does put a caveat in place about how we may not actually get "whatever we desire." Even Jesus couldn't get whatever he desired, when he asked to be spared the crucifixion experience.

This does not hold up in real life, and you know it.

To throw out an anecdote or two about how somebody feared being hurt by a stranger and thus got killed by a stranger, discounts the myriad of phobias and fears that people live with all the time, day after day, and their fears do not happen. Almost all the time, their fears do not happen. And it does not matter one bit how intense their phobia/fear is or how much they obsess about it.

There's also a strong component that it's less likely for a person to attract what they fear, because they take precautions against the situations where they have the power to do so. It's the people who have no fear of getting killed in a car accident who are more likely to not wear seat belts, to drive too fast in bad conditions, to drink and drive.

I would bet it's safe to say that nearly all families who have a toddler who gets leukemia, never imagined their child would get leukemia, and certainly did not have an intense fear of it. When it happens, they are blindsided. What they typically say is, "I never thought something like this would happen to us."

We're never going to be able to explain how certain communities along the Gulf Coast collectively attracted Hurricane Katrina while other communities apparently were spared because collectively they were not a vibrational match for a hurricane.

Please.

This part of the so-called "Law" of attraction is either misinterpreted, or flat-out wrong. And thank God for that.

Actually I think it does, and I've explained it before. It does take some time for me to retype the explanation, so maybe you may want to do a search.

I'll give a few simplified answers in point form:

1. The reasons why not all your scary fears manifest into reality are the same reasons why not all your joyful hopes manifest into reality.

2. It is correct that a fear may compel you to take certain precautions, such that the feared outcome is prevented from occurring. This works the same way as a positive intention being counteracted by a limiting belief.

3. People are repulsed by the idea that they create such terrible,tragic events in their reality. What they don't see is the flip side - all the most positive, beautiful and wonderful things in their reality are also created by them.

4. People are also repulsed by the idea that they are responsible for creating tragedies - in that the idea would entail some sense of moral culpability in them, which they cannot accept. However, as I've also previously explained, your moral culpability only exists to the extent that:

(a) you were aware that your thoughts/beliefs had such negative effect;
(b) you had the ability to change your thoughts/beliefs on such matters; AND
(c) you refused to change your thoughts and beliefs,

Vast majority of people on this planet don't meet the (a) criterion, much less (b) and (c), and therefore you need not feel personally responsible for the famines in Africa, or the New Orleans disaster, or the massive snowfalls in China.

(5) Also you must understand that a specific circumstance in your life does not usually occur as a result of your specific thought about such a specific circumstance. For example, a person may get lung cancer not because he is always thinking about lung cancer, but because of a combination of different thoughts not related to lung cancer. Eg that he has done certain bad things in his life and will one day be punished for it; or that life is not worth living and he doesn't have much worth looking forward to; or that his relationship with his family members is rotten and he wishes that (something will happen) such that they will really pay attention to him and take care of him. Etc etc.

We digress briefly to a Big Question which no doubt all religious persons have considered, in one form or another:

"If God exists, why do bad things happen to mankind?"

There is a relationship between the above question, and this one:

"If my thoughts create reality, why do bad things happen to mankind?"

And the answer(s) to the first question will shed light on the second.
