Default Maybe you not stating the intention correctly

For the longest time I wanted to make a lot of money from my own efforts and I would come up with a million different business ideas, it got so bad that I got a book and wrote them all down.

I was having all these ideas and while I tried 5 or 6 of them with varying degrees of success, nothing really took off.

Then (after 3-5 years) I realised all that time I was asking the wrong question or at least getting results, but not the results I wanted.

I was asking "How can I make a lot of money" and "Show me how to make a lot of money" and guess what? It was showing me all the time.

The intentions were manifesting constantly. It was getting idea after idea and everyone of them probably could with enough time and effort made me rich.

The questions I was asking were being answered.

It wasn't until I realised this huge mistake that I corrected it and 'whammo' it worked.

Instead of asking for ways to make money, I stated instead "I have $5000 in my bank account in cash" and it worked. Within two weeks I had the money and I did not actively seek it out, it found me.

Yes I had to do some work for it, but the money was in my account before I had to do the work.

So now I've realised that all along I was asking and stating it incorrectly. it was producing the results all along, but they weren't what I truly desired or at least not the easiest fastest route, because I was framing the intention incorrectly.

Maybe you're not getting what you desire, because you're wording it wrong and/or you are actually getting what your asking for, but it's not right because you're not framing the intention right.

HTH

Jeff

PS I'm working on a larger amount, had the alphas, got the beta going, method has presented itself, so we'll see. The universe is always providing, you've just got to ask correctly.

No it's actually being very specific about what you want

I asked for ideas I got millions of them

When I was specific and asked for a specific sum of money I got that.

It's he old saying "Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it"

Words, feelings, pictures, music, visualisation, it's all important, but the most important part is deciding exactly what it is you desire and being very very specific.

I agree with Akashic regarding the feeling. I think that if you can absolutely and completely reproduce the feeling that you were to get if you were already in possession of the thing you're trying to manifest, then you're sending out a message that's unmistakeable. Yes, the words are important (personal experience has taught me that there's a LOT of truth in the saying 'be careful what you wish for') but I think the LOA is much more about matching your energy - emotional energy and the energy generated by action - with the energy of whatever it is you want to attract, than it is about sentence construction, semantics and grammatical nitpicking.

Generating the feeling first will put you on the right path much quicker. If, in your example, you'd have generated the feeling you got when shown how to make money, you'd either have immediately realised that this wasn't what you were really asking for, or you'd just have generated the feeling that you actually already had lots of money, instantly sending out the message you really wanted the universe to hear.

However, the ability to genuinely produce such feelings in response to events that aren't actually happening is much harder than sentence construction. Like most other things in life, this is why the rewards for your efforts are greater.

My take on it all, anyway

Emotions are important, yes, but I'm not convinced they have to be supercharged.

I remember thinking about the $5000 often, but I can't remember getting into a high emotional state about it.

There's a fine line between being emotionally connected to your goal and tipping it over the edge where you are strangeling the flow.

Perhaps the method is slightly different for different people, in the same way that some are better at learning via auditory means while others learn best from visual material.

Worrying too much about specific wording always feels to me as if I were treating the universe as if it were something immature - like spelling things out to a small child. For me, when I can feel as if I'm living with something I dream about, it's usually a short step until I actually am. Now I'm just learning to dream bigger

You know Jeff, I had a similar thing happen with the same amount. We are buying a house, and at the beginnign of this month things looked pretty shaky as to wether or not we could manage to get it. Well, these unexpected costs kept popping up (oh, to be young and ignorant about real estate!) and things started looking bad. But, I refused to be negative. I kept telling myself the house was ours, and I felt excited about it, but mostly kept it to myself and reminded my partner that it would be our home.

I was sitting and thinking about it, and on a whim I grabbed a check and wrote out the amount $5000, in our names, dated and signed it, and said "this should about cover everything we need to get into our house".

Along comes my dad, with an offer to help us out with the downpayment if need be (he's never offered money before and I have never asked!) after offering to cover the cost of a house inspection. So after him transferring the money into our account, plus the money we had put there to cover all the legal costs, we had $5057 in our bank account.

I definitely think it's both the words and the feelings behind it, but you do have to be specific.
