The significance of the number 47?

I'm a trekkie, and as you probably know the number 47 crops up in some way or another in almost every Star Trek episode.

But recently I've seen it appear elsewhere in my life. A while ago I passed a road sign which had the digits 4 and 7 appear one above the other for no apparent reason (they were faded-out numbers stuck on the corner, with no indication as to what they meant). And just now on the World Cup I heard a commentator say about a replay "Try and do that another 47 times".

How exactly is this happening? Am I manifesting it? Or does the number 47 have some significance? All I know is that the digits add up to 11 but since it's a prime number as well there's got to be more to it than that.

I have this no. quite a lot too. I thought it was cause it summed to 11 but I don't get e.g. 92 so often at all. Hmmm...

For a week or so, every number in the lyrics I wrote was 47. It's cool that I'm not the only one who experienced this oddity. :P

I only noticed it because I thought it should be 42, or another number altogether, but whenever I sang over the line again, it really wanted to change itself back to 47.

Ha ha, I was saving this one until you brought it up again because I wasn't sure if it was still your number. I went to a bar for the last NBA game and the bartender had a 55 on her top, which reminded me of your number and I figured "I'm getting Wax's synchros again." A bit later, there was a time out at 5:55 and I thought "here's another one" and at that very moment I looked to the side and on another screen they use for video games was a cartoon of an 80s guy with the caption "55" (as in Van Halen's I can't drive 55.) I thought it was cool

A few days before that, I had walked into the same place and the same woman was mid-sentence about how she sees a certain number everywhere. I asked what number she was talking about and she said "11:11" and I thought of course, I said I see it too and as we were talking there was an 11 on the screen right behind her. I told her to turn her head but when she did she had just missed it.

What are you trying to do, get Kaleidoscopic all hot and bothered? Anyway, lately I do rather like to imagine reality as a bunch of "Lego bricks", that, when broken apart, rejoin a chaotic ocean of raw building material, waiting to be used again... I'm still working on the disassembly stage...

There's something freakish about the number 47.

One of my friend or rather now ex-friend nickname is 47. The week I was obsessing over her(Yeah, its a girl I like.), lottery came out first prize as 0047(Just in case you are curious, lottery in my country comes in 4 digits).

Following on that, I remember the unit number of the previous girl I liked is 47.

Then as I stumbled upon this 47 society on the net yesterday. I came across this article on people with 47 chromosomes, XYY. Firstly, XY is the girl's initials. 2ndly, people with 47 chromosomes are more prone to autism and slow development in motor skills. That's 2 of the problems I went to see a psychiatrist for few years back!

The weirdest thing is there's this abandoned mansion near my house, apparently they say its haunted. And someone spray painted 7447 on the wall of the house. Who knows what it signifies?

Its just freaky.
