For those who regularly use IM, do you practice I/M on the fly? Meaning if you're in a situation that is getting out of hand...for instance, a friend who talks too much, would you use I/M to get them to shut up for a second, cause you want to get a word in edgewise? lolol.. |

Thanks danas! I actually did use some 'on the fly' I/M during a conversation with a 'chatty' friend of mine today. She's a bit stressed about a guy, and needs to vent, I get it. But after hearing the story over and over again, I imagined her pausing and saying 'well, anyway...' and she did exactly that about 15 seconds later. I needed to get off the phone! :P |

It's worked for me. When i want someone to shut up or just quit doing something, i focus on that in my mind. Some idiot talking about weird crap is making me look bad.. I just visualize for a few seconds and within 15-20 seconds they leave. I'm next to some attractive girls, but im having a shy day, so i do the same mental technique again which may involve visualization or affirmation... and then something happens where we are bumped into eachother or a friend introduces us and then the whole conversation starts effortlessly. |

It's bonkers isn't it. I do it with my toddler - we approach nursery and I make him not cry with my mind. Started this aweek ago after a years screaming when i left him....day 1 a bit of a grumble but no crying then by the end of the week just a big smile wow! |
