Croatian Teen Wakes Up From Coma Speaking Fluent German

Croatian girl, went into a coma, woke up speaking pristine German. She can't speak Croatian anymore, though.

It is true that she was studying German before the coma, but that's a bit like saying I studied French in Freshman year--she can now speak German fluently, as if it were native to her, whereas before she was struggling with basic grammar. She was only in a coma for 24 hours.

So, if this kind of weird crap can happen, what's stopping the rest of us from learning perfect languages? Even though it doesn't entirely step up to SmartAlx's challenge a long time ago to learn a language we have no contact with, it's a start.

Besides, it's referenced that some people have woken up speaking perfect Egyptian or Babylonian.

I had a surgery years ago, and when I woke up, I started to talk about the Bible, and I told stories from it I never even heard of. I never even been to a church more than 3 times in my life. And other, religious people who were in the room said that what I told was actually true.

Still don't know how it happened.

IMO this happened because during the coma she got in touch with one of her past lives. We usually forget all the info about our past lives when we come into the world for a new round, but sometimes, under special circumstances people remember things (especially languages), that explains egyptian and babylonian too

Wax Frog, intend real hard. Even if the LoA is total BS, if you think hard enough, you might be able to overwhelm yourself into a coma.

I've always suspected that with all the stuff that is broadcast these days (radio, television, cell phones, internet, etc.) that just because our conscious minds can't tune into the frequency without some technological device doesn't mean that that stuff doesn't enter a frequency of the brain that we can't consciously tap at this time.

So, perhaps (and this is just a crazy theory here and not me saying it as truth) the reason stuff like this happens is because through surgeries and such that alter a brain's chemicals or such can also cause the mind to "tune in" to that stuff that gets filtered out like that or sifted into an area of the brain that we don't consciously use.

James, that isn't crazy. In fact, I'm pretty sure that this girl accessed a part of her brain that actually did understand how to speak German. After all, she WAS studying it, and exposing herself to the language.

IDK about the past lives thing. If people were really accessing this stuff from past lives, wouldn't they be invaluable to historians and the like? They could tell them secrets of the past, explain things we don't yet understand, etc.

This phenomenon is called aphasia. The brain is a pretty amazing thing. When she recovered, she used the only language that she could, German.
According to local papers, she is still fairly shaky in German and can understand Croatian.
