Default Tools for creating a Vision Statement

Hye! This is 2nd thread here.
1 reason I dont post here or even visit often is that... well....this forum really scares me. Might sound stupid to you- but...I dont know....its just that when I come here I see so many people out there are busy creating the life they want, all the threads dealing with postive stuff.....its kind of overwhelming.

Anyways....

I have a request:
I'm sure a lot of people must've come across Malcom Cohens "Vision Statement" found on youtube. I want to create one for myself. But I dont know which software to use for it. I tried searching online but the only result I received recommends Photo Story 3. I dont have a service pack for my XP- hence I cant use it.
I have Win XP.
What software would you recommend?

I didn't think it made much sense to do the "Vision Statement" electronically, because since I use my computer mostly for work, I don't have much time to be staring at my screensaver or wallpaper.

I just purchased a corkboard at Walmart (about $7.00), found all the pictures I wanted from the Internet, and had them printed via Walgreens.com.

I know some people might think that borders on copyright infringement (printing pictures of cars, houses, nature, etc.), but since I'm not using them for comercial purposes, I didn't feel bad about it.

I pinned the pictures to the corkboard, and hung it on the wall next to my computer, and it worked wonderfully. Total cost was less than $15, and at least in my personal case, it's a lot more visual than doing it electronically.

Hehe, Amit.

The first thing I thought when I read the title of your post was eeeeuuuwwww ... what's up with creating a vision statement!

Create an entire vision for christ's sake!

But since I see you're afraid of us, I won't say that. Forget I ever said that.

Smile Hi Amit

This place kind of intimidates me too!

It's funny you should mention the Vision Statements. . . I just started working on mine today. It's really fun! Let's all make one! I love Malcolm's enthusiasm, but I can't see paying for a seminar to learn how to create a slideshow with music. I'm no computer whiz but I think I'll be able to work it out. When I'm done I want to burn it to a dvd so I can watch it every morning. I went searching for instructions and must have found the same place you did because I just downloaded Photo Story 3. I'm using Windows XP as well, and didn't have any problems downloading photo story. Can you not download a service pack from Windows Updates? If you can't get photo story working, I bet you have Windows Movie Maker on your computer already and that would probably work, since you can use still photos and transitions and music.

If everyone's not familiar with this video vision statement thing, check it out here Homepage

And here are instructions to make your own. Watch the sample at the end, it's good. How To Create a Vision Statement Video » Reality Seeds

Uh...no.
Actually when I said a Vision Statement- I did mean an entire vision in the form of statements. Currently I write down everything- my long term plans, experiences I want - and I write this everyday to reconnect myself to my goals.
Its just that I wanted a virtual experience. Seeing it in the form of images/videos with some awesome music seems to crete a deeper emotinal impact. I also plan to have Wall Charts and pocket reminders.

Aww......come on!
I think you can help me and you're just pulling my leg.
Seriously dude- I was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar last month. Right now I'm in my normal emotional phase.....I need to create something for a deeper positive emotional impact before I hit a low phase.

So if you do know some softwares that I can use-post the links

I was planning to have a chart on my wall with my statements. But now- your idea sounds better. Images with statements! Nice!
Thanks for this.

But I'm also going to continue with a virtual vision statement. I find that pictures, movies, music combined create a deeper emotinal impact for me.

Hye Wendy! Good luck with your Vision Statement!
I read the post on the blog you mentioned and tried getting Photo story. I couldnt install it cause I had Windows Media Player 9- you need at least WMP10.
I tried getting WMP10/11- but it wont install cause I dont have a service pack. And I dont want to get a service pack...free downloads are available- but I always end up getting some problems with SP2. I had it before and then uninstalled it.
I guess I could try Windows Movie Maker-

If you decide to share your statement with others- post a link here.

I just use any slide show program (iphoto in my case). I downloaded pics which represent my dreams, added music (nina simone's feelin' good) and I watch it every day. some of the exact pics have already manifesed just like the picture... for intance yesterday I had an accident with my car- the insurance company gave me a temporary replacement car- the exact car on my vision board- I am now driving my dream car- and Im sure I will own one one day.

Elenny, I would like to know how this has affected you so far?? I saw 'The Secret' and one of the presenters (I forget his name) did the same thing your doing. He ended up buying the exact house he had pinned up.

Default Wow!

That's weird. I have made a vision statement for all my goals and I planned earlier in the week to write a post on my blog about how to make one. i just came here to make a post detailing the method and saw your post.

Anyway, yes you use photostory, but you can download it from different locations if your having trouble getting it from the microsoft site - google it.

You get all your pics, add them to photostory, type in some powerful affirmations and add a song that gets you feeling great! The whole thing is very powerful indeed. I'm at work right now but when I get home I'll write this article and will use screenshots to explain the process.

It's all very easy to do and I recommend that you watch it twice a day to program your subconscious and therefore set the law of attraction in motion. Great post Amit - and don't be afraid, we're all very nice people here

Hi Fusebox,

Actually, I got the idea from John Assaraf after watching "The Secret". He is the guy who visualized his house five years before he realized he had purchased it.

For me the vision board has brought new brightness into my office, and new clarity into my life. Since I work from home, I spend an average of 12 hours per day in front of my computer, and now I actually feel like I'm living and working from that house on the board.

I think it's really powerful stuff. The biggest change that I have noticed is that now I really believe I will have that house, and that car, and that recording studio, etc. It doesn't seem like just a dream anymore. It feels like it's already a part of me.

After reading some of the answers here, I think this weekend I will also create an electronic version. Maybe that will take my experience to the next level. I'll keep everyone posted on the results.

Question

For those of you making electronic vision statements....at what speed do you set your images to change?

I have heard that the faster the speed (i.e., less than one second), the better because your subconscious will process it more effectively.

Other people are saying that you should leave them up a few seconds or longer so you get to visualize it better.

Any insights on that?

Now thats a good question Elenny- but something to whch i dont have an answer.
Personally i'm doing it with longer time holds to absorb the image an though process.

Or you could also do this: use multiple images moving at a fast rate but with the same message on screen.
For eg; a statement like "i'm a millionaire" you could have this statement on for 10 seconds.
In that 10 sec have 20 images on what u think it means to be rich.

Mind u , I'm a noob like you. So u might prefer asking this question to the professionals around here.

Cool, thanks for the reply Elenny.

There was another thread on the forums for visionstatement.org.au, Malcom Cohan gets people to make their vision statements and then post them on youtube.
