Default Logic vs emotion/intuition?

Hi there, with respect to decision making, would you go with logic or intuition?

For me, I have a decision to make, which I do not know whether to use the logical answer or go with my intuition.

Thanks.

Grr.. you'd think this is a easy question to give advice for it.. but it's not..

My gut says automatically: Intuition..

But here's the thing.. if your faced with a decision between let's say following your dreams and excitement.. but you don't feel you'll be supported (this usually means the money/universe ) then indeed as long as that belief is there that you won't be supported.. you probably won't be.. (unless you change at the new place/change )

This is where a logic/EGO decision might be better.. just remember.. when you do fall down and scrape your knee.. after a good cry and release.. you get right back up and start all over again! That's the human spirit!

So the idea is "worst case scenario" you start over.. from scratch and if your in you're power and living your life excitedly.. it's not that hard to get right back to where you were..

(yep, that's a lot of advice for a simple question.. but I just wanted to help you make the right decision(s) )

Intuition works much better for me for decision-making, and it usually ends up that the outcome is something that would have also fit with logic... well, more accurately sometimes it ends up that way, but it definitely works out that the intuitive option was the right choice to make.

I find this is a false dichotomy. When my logic and intuition don't agree, something is wrong. It's typically that I'm deluding myself or giving my power away-such as automatically thinking that people disapproving of me is bad, which causes my "logical" brain to disagree with some actions my intuition suggests.

By the way, I've found the problem goes both ways-when logic and intuition don't agree, either one, or both, can be wrong. I try to get to the point where they do agree for all major decisions though.

Depends on the decision and circumstances. Typically, the more experienced I am in the area, the more likely I'll go with my intuition. (For a good reason on that see Blink! and its less popular counterargument, Think!.) That being said, if I can find a logical reason for why my intuition is wrong (not just the choice itself) then I'll go with reason as it's my most developed and reliable decision-making faculty.

For making decisions in general, this tends to vary by personality (see Myers-Briggs Typology) though I can imagine people who consistently use only one faculty of mind will get good at making decisions in general but often make bad decisions for a given type of circumstance(s).

intuition, normally i let my logic catch up, find out why my intuition says this, but if its a time limited decision than i go with my intuition.
