| despite all of this talk about IM, i have never seen a clear outline of the process- for example - does one ask once, visualize daily, or just ask once, and forget about it? As best as i can sort out. Know what you want Know what you don't want write out what you want. create a visual image of it (vision board), visualize it with feeling. Ask for it as if you are receiving it. Believe you are receiving it. Act as if it is already there and all you have to do is take the steps to reveal it (if any) Take action. ? Correct? |

| Here's how I do it and it's a bit different from how they describe it in The Secret: 1. I decide I want something or a situation in my life. 2. I meditate and write down why I want to achieve or recieve it. 3. I look at the limiting beliefs I have about what I want. In other words, I ask myself "Why don't I have this in my life now? Why didn't I think I could have this before?" Usually I'll get some answer like, "I didn't think I was smart enough." or "I didn't think I was good enough." You get the picture. 4. I spend weeks and months replacing my disempowering beliefs with empowering ones. This is very uncomfortable emotionally, but that's the only way to change habits. Without this step, I would just be wishful thinking and daydreaming. 5. As I'm replacing my beliefs, I take small steps towards what I want to achieve. I go one day at a time. I don't spend time being hard on myself either. 6. I practice patience with myself and with what I want to manifest......I practice even more patience...... 7. As time goes by, my new empowering beliefs allow me to take even more action. 8. What I want starts to manifest into my life as I'm going through steps 1-7. 9. I make a new intention and go through steps 1-8 all over again! I admit that this sounds like the hard way, but...it really depends on what you want to intend. And it depends on how you feel about yourself. If you want to be a millionaire and you don't believe in yourself or that you don't deserve a million dollars, you will never intend it, no matter how much you visualize it. Hope this helps |

I guess it can be looked at as a component of believing you will get it, or believing you will get it is a component of your belief in yourself... |

| There is a book entitled "The Law of Attraction" that tells you in a very 1-2-3 way how to go about the intention and manifestation process. It also explains how to figure out what you REALLY want. It's a good book for anyone who wants a nuts and bolts approach to the LOA without any spiritual slant. |

| I think the first thing you need is to believe. I have heard of people "testing" the LoA by saying "if it's true, then I'll become a millionaire soon", and when those millions don't fall from the sky, they start putting down the whole concept of the LoA and IM. I believe this also has to be a life-changing experience in every aspect of your life. You cannot go through the steps of IM for one area of your life, when other areas are full of negativity. This is not something you will not truly understand until you're living it. It will not happen by watching or reading "The Secret" or any one self-help book out there. Reading a lot of books is great, but this is a process that has to be born inside of you. For me personally, the good things started happening when I started seeing the positive side of everything in life. I felt happier, and almost immediately I started attracting great things and very positive people into my life.

| I took notes on the Secret movie when I watched it. Apparently I have seen a different version than the one that is out now, but I don't know. These are my notes at they relate to Dor's question about a recommended series of steps for IM, at least as given in the Secret movie, whether overtly or not. When I have put a step into parentheses, that means I think that it was implied by the speakers, but not stated directly. Even if they don't have quotation marks, these sentences below are actual quotes from the movie, as far as I could be accurate, and I listened to the movie 3 times to make sure I got them down correctly. Many of the statements that I wrote down are from Mrs. Hicks, so if she's not in the movie anymore, you won't recognize some of these statements as being from the current version of the movie. I have seriously re-organized all the statements I wrote down from the film in real-time (which were frankly all over the place, topic-wise) into a structure that made sense to me. I list the steps (alphabetical) and then the relevant info of each step (numerical). I don't know what it means, but I have just noticed that this posting has given me a little green dot by my name = hope that is a positive! ====nantucketsunset NOTES from Secret movie===== Steps to getting what you want in life A. (Decide what you want) B. Ask C. (Hold positive emotions) D. (Visualize) E. Be Answered F. Receive (,Trust, Act) A. Decide what you want: A1. What you want Whatever your circumstances are, they are only your current reality – what you are observing now – but it can change Concentrate on your wants, not your shoulds You must be absolutely clear about what it is you want Your job is to declare what you would like to have from the “catalog” of the universe It should be believable to you Some people search a long time for their purpose in life. God does not have a blackboard where it is written what your mission is. Don’t look for it because you won’t find one. Your primary aim is to experience joy, love, freedom, laughter, happiness Your real work is to decide what you want and then focus on it If something doesn’t feel good, let it go – find something else that resonates with your heart “Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you…” -Bill Moyers A2. There is enough available, so you can ask for whatever you want Size is nothing to the universe – it can give you big things as easily as small things, but sometimes people feel that big things will be more difficult so they can start with small things to gain confidence in the process Sometimes it is easy to feel that everything is scarce. It is not true that there is not enough good to go around - there is more than enough power, joy, love, good. Life is meant to be abundant There is more than enough When everyone goes for what they want, they go for different things – there will be enough for everyone even if everyone starts to go through this process A3. Not what you don’t want Don’t think about what you don’t want, don’t give it any emotion, any energy Having a goal of getting out of debt will attract debt – instead focus on prosperity Don’t complain about how bad things are because you will keep the status quo Bad vibes, frequencies As you push against the unwanted, you add power to it You can’t say “no” and make it go away What you resist, persists If you are anti-war, be pro-peace – focus on what you want. It’s okay to notice what you don’t want, but pay much more attention to what you want Remove your attention from the things you don’t want – don’t write about them, don’t campaign against them, don’t join groups fighting against them A4. Concentrate on your own life You are the only one who creates your reality – and likewise, don’t expect others to change or that you will be able to change them Create the world around you that you choose, and allow the world of others to be what they want also Your purpose is what you say it is, your mission is what you want it to be – no one can judge you about it, either now or after you have died People might look at you and say what you want to do is impossible, but you will be able to do it B. Ask for what you want Write down a list of what you want and put it in present tense. E.g., “I am so happy and grateful now that…” For a present-tense affirmation: make it a choice instead of wishful thinking or imagination – say “I choose to live in a beautiful apartment” for example, to make it easier to believe because “I am living in an expensive apartment” can sound false when you are actually not Example: “I earn, easily and consistently, £100,000 per year” Turn it over to the universe Our words have great power You don’t need to use words to ask for what you want – the universe responds to your thoughts C. Hold positive emotions Don’t try to monitor your thoughts – just look at your emotions There are just 2 kinds of emotions – ones that make you feel good and ones that make you feel bad – if you feel good, keep doing what you are doing It’s important that you are feeling good, so you can attract the things that help you to feel good Whatever you are feeling is what you are in the process of becoming C1. Gratitude Have gratitude – focus on what you have to be grateful for currently Appreciation attracts support – be in an “attitude of gratitude” Make a list of things to be grateful for. Do this daily, but it should not be a chore - you want to feel exhilarated by the process, high, happy, in tune Feel differently about what you already have. You might prefer something else, but be grateful for what you have now C2. Enthusiasm Live in the magic of life Stir up your enthusiasm, joy, passion When you are feeling down, change your emotion – think of something beautiful, play some special music, etc. The world is based upon well-being, so allow that stream to flow in your life Feel hopeful, not fearful Put yourself in a state of joy, then have the intention of what you want to manifest C3. Belief Believe it can happen, believe you deserve it Create things that are wonderful and worthy of you – you have the power to do that. Repeat: Worthy of you. Say “I choose to let it be easy” You have to think “money comes easily and frequently” Life is meant to be abundant in all areas Placebo effect – belief that something positive will happen – effective 33-50% of the time. Nocebo effect – belief that something negative will happen – effective 50-100% of the time [not from the movie] “Belief relief” – reframing negative attitudes/expectations Combine repetition (affirming) and emotion (imagining) to change beliefs [not from the movie] C4. “Alignment” Bring yourself into alignment with what you have asked for - generate the feelings of having it now Feeling despair, fear and anger mean that you are not in alignment with what you have asked for Feel the feeling place of what you asked for Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled Don’t wish, don’t say I want this someday, but feel as if you have the thing now Get into the state of having already acquired what you want Make what you want your reality by becoming a match to it You can begin to feel healthy, feel prosperous, feel the love surrounding you (even if it’s not there yet) – the universe will correspond to the nature of your song --the universe will manifest it for you Feelings are our guidance system – if you feel good you are in alignment Don’t contradict yourself by having images/items around you that clash with what you want Do not let anything distract you from your goal, your vision D. Visualize that you have what you want Studies show that the same muscles fire in the same sequence when you are running through something in your mind and when you are doing it for real Visualize it – “visual motor rehearsal” NASA term When you vividly imagine something, the brain experiences it as real (example of imagining to cut and taste a lemon – makes mouth water) If you go there in the mind, you go there in the body When you visualize, you materialize Imagine you already have what you want, then trust the universe to provide See yourself living in abundance Always, and only, dwell upon the end result when you are visualizing [do they mean not to imagine yourself going through the individual steps towards getting what you want?] Imagine having the lifestyle you want Visualize checks coming in the mail “Imagination is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” -Einstein Make a “vision board” to help you focus on what you want Paint a picture of what you want – be clear Take actions to help you visualize/experience the things you want: Test drive the car, go shopping for the thing you are wanting, tour inside the house you want to live in, etc. E. Be Answered Your thoughts don’t manifest immediately – and it’s a good thing F. | For me the usual system, doesn't work at all... I'm an ENFP... an entertainer soul... I think your personality influences a lot the way you've must go after the things you want. What I've always done is to try to achieve things in a similar ways to those I feel I'm more like... For me the line "just what you want to be, you will be in the end", kind of sums it all. And you want to be that "you" you think you are really but somehow doesn't manifest yet... It takes time to be yourself. "I've done my sentence.... but committed no crime"... | Dor, here is a simple process: DeVisE Method of Manifestation DeVisE is a very simple method for attracting to us virtually anything we want in a very simple and practical way. There are many schools of thought on how to benefit from the Law of Attraction (LOA) and I'm sure they all work to some extent but this method is so simple that anyone can memorize the entire concept by reading it once. DeVisE or DEVISE is an acronym to help you remember what it means. The first concept is DE, which stands for DESIRE. The second conecpt is VIS, which stands for VISUALIZE. The third concept is E, which stands for EMOTIONALIZE. Simply, feel your desire for what you want to attract so strong that you practically lose sleep over it because it has become such an obsession that it is all you think about. If you can't get that excited about something, do you really want it in your life? Personally, my desires become burning obsessions and this is a key to having LOA work powerfully. When having the strong desire, it is very crucial to visualize yourself having ALREADY received it. Use all your senses. Feel it, smell it, taste it, hear it, see it and use any other sensory data you can pull upon. Many experts in the field tell you to see it as if you have it NOW but I'm saying to see it as if you ALREADY have received it as if you are in the future looking back. I will clear this up in a moment. Finally, while having the strong desire and the powerfully clear visualization of already receiving your desire, call upon your emotions so that you get wildly excited about how thankful and grateful you are that you have received it. I sometimes get to the point that I am so grateful that God has ALREADY given what I desire that I cry and am in an emotional ecstacy in a very intense way. It is not necessary to go all out in this way but if you do, proportional results follow. I sometimes get so emotionally cranked up with intense gratitude that my adrenaline gets pumping, literally. If you incorporate all three concepts simultaneously and do this often and even non-stop at least in the mind for as long as possible, then powerful results will follow. If you put 10 parts energy into manifesting your desire over 10 days, that is 1 part energy per day. If you put 10 parts energy into manifesting your desire over 5 days, that is 2 parts energy per day. If you put 10 parts energy into manifesting your desire in one single day, that is 10 parts energy per day. This may seem that there isn't much difference as long as a certain amount of energy is going into something. But, there IS! For very powerful results, you must use TIME as energy itself. Compressing as much energy into the smallest unit of time possible will give you the most powerful results. If you obssess over something day and night every waking hour for a couple weeks on a certain subject, you will attract to yourself people, events, books and other things that are in alignment with what you want to learn in a very powerful way. It will be way more powerful that if you took the same effort and expended it months or years. Take advantage of TIME energy. This concept alone will amplify all your results from your efforts beyond belief. There is wishing for something but that really shows there isn't much belief it will happen. There is wanting, which is more effective but still not too confident about receiving the desire. There is knowing that something will happen and this is better but if we know that something WILL happen, God grants that and tells us, "You're right, you WILL get that." That keeps us in a state of always being in the postion that it will happen meaning it just isn't coming. There is knowing that it IS here in the now and this is powerful. This takes a lot of faith. What I recommend for the most powerful of all results is to know that it has ALREADY been given by seeing yourself in the future looking back being thankful for having received it. However, when it comes into your hands, do not keep this mindset. Upon manifestation, become PRESENT in the HERE and NOW and BE with the manifestation in full gratitude to God for having provided it through the amazing workings of the mind. | Hi Volunteer, If someone were to utilize the DeVisE method with some very hardcore will power and intent Bruce Lee style, then it may come close to what PATHS can offer but most people aren't willing to do that. This is the age of...everything NOW!...people are clicking on the microwave stop button 5 seconds before it is finished because they can't wait. LOL But PATHS does so much more than manifestation of desires. |

| I think I may have found something that 'works for me' I think I have been focusing on stuff too far in the future, and that though possible, and i could rationally believe, its easier to get distracted. So I asked myself, what could i realistically change in 30 days if I concentrated on it? What would my life look like in 30 days if I really applied these principles. What could I reasonably manifest in 30 days? Even mundane things like - how would my present office and home look different? |
