That is a beautiful quote, and so true. I remember it being used in the movie The Shadow Effect, but I don't remember who wrote or said it originally.

It's from Marianne Williamson's A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles. I only know this because, due to seeing this quote in a self-improvement book I'd read, I'd fallen into the common Nelson Mandela misattribution trap. Diandra, bless her, set me straight

Oh okay, thanks! That makes sense because Marianne Williamson is in the movie The Shadow Effect, and I believe she is the one who narrates the quote/poem. It is pretty powerful, because at the same time they are showing pictures of people who are unique and accomplished. I don't remember who exactly, but possibly Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres marrying Portia De Rossi, Mother Theresa, (I think), Steve Jobs... you get the drift, successful people that march to their own drummer.

A few months ago someone sent me a link to an ebook that attributed this quote to Nelson Mandela, made me quite annoyed!

It turned out to be a good thing though, reawakened my interest in Marianne, bought a book of hers about A Course In Miracles, (the course) which I had gone part way through some years ago.

By coincidence

mentioned it to someone who gave me a load of newsletters all about just that. Some of the ideas examined in the book tied in very well with issues presenting in my life at the time (mum dying/childbirth/religion v agnostic spirituality/oneness/the eternal/the nature of love).

But yes, the whole "who are you" thing is so beautifully put
