Hi. Got a couple of questions about some of the things in life that are plaguing me. I am told we are all One. An have had intuitive glimpses and understandings on this subject. After death I am told we all return to this One, the Source. [I know you think the Matrix, I did too but that is how it was explained to me using One, and the Source of All.] Most people forget and lose themselves kind of like they are a glass that shatters and are lost completely in the 'All Are One' of it all. There is a technique which I believe that allows us to retain our consciousness and awareness after the whole physically dieing and the soul being extinguished while the animating force ala spirit returns to the All Are One, the Source, God, etc, etc. Is there a way to retain the 'soul'. I mean I've been looking deeply into what the Soul is and all these answers keep popping up. An all of it tells me one thing that I feel. The Soul dies if it isn't strong enough to withstand death. That it.. well I dont know exactly what it is, I just know the body dies at death and the animating force inside of us is kind of imprinted with our life experiences. The soul itself if it isn't strong enough to withstand this and if it is attached to the spirit, it dies too. Although the copy of who we are goes into the vastness most people call The Source, Akashic Records, God, the Collective Unconscious. So is there a technique anyone knows of being able to retain consciousness after death. It's a very complicated and touchy subject. So I'm just really looking for help from people's intuition, themselves, their guides, whatever can be done to help me out on this. I understand that's what I want, to continue to explore in the here and now, and strengthen the part of me that will inevitably die but doesn't have to die with my body. Wow this was draining to write out :P Thanks again friends. |

It's not that you don't retain consciousness after death, it's that you don't have your real consciousness right now, instead you have ego-consciousness while your higher self(the actual you) looks down upon you. When you die and are born again (if you choose to) you get a new ego. You can never lose yourself, your ego just forgets. I believe this is the point of spiritual advancement though I'm not sure. I too would like instructions on the actual process. |

I dunno. The cool thing about this question is that's it pretty much impossible to "prove" either way. I choose to believe: - We "are" consciouness dreaming this world and us in it. - We ARE NOT our current personality, past, experiences, story, memories...these are part of our "earth dream". When we dream that the body dies...we wake up to a different level of consciousness and remember amazing stuff that we can't much concieve of while dreaming here in our "earth dream" This is fun to me...sometimes, when my mind is very still and quiet, I can feel my soul driving my body, much like I do when I play a video game...then a wave of peace sometimes flows through me knowing that all is well and that I am choosing to dream this life...for now. |

I dont know about any oneness after death. In my communications with people who lose their physical bodies, none of them have become one with anything. I find that their identity or psychological energy is retained as it is at death, with no noticeable change and certainly with no mergence with anything or oneness with anything. The experience of others might be different. No effort is required to retain consciousness after death. Consciousness which you have now is not reliant on your maintenance of it and it will remain the same after your physical body dies. Despite all the hype, can anyone say, that he or she created his or her consciousness? Consciousness is a production of psychic nature, just as physical existence is produced in and to a large extent by physical nature. That consciousness will continue. What would not continue is full memory as you know it now. We are already getting glimpses of what it will be like to exist without a physical body when we are in astral projections or when we are in lucid dreaming. |

I agree with MiBeloved. You don't dissolve into a huge ocean of consciousness after death. The whole purpose of incarnations and the creation of your individualized identity was so you could enjoy the journey from a state of ignorance/innocence to a state of omniscience or all knowing. You don't become something you are not at death, you just remember more events that you have participated in since your personality was creatively organized. That is to say, you remember your previous incarnations after death and your life in the spirit world. Your home in the spiritual world can be just like it is here. It's a living field of consciousness. It's like being in a very conscious dream. People socialize, play, study, assist incarnate beings. You can create whatever you want there -- a body, a house, it's any space you want for yourself. There is nothing to fear about death, I assure you. It really is going home -- your real home. |

What anagogy said! But let me add your undertone of fear in this thread.. is about your ego analyzing the information available and fearing death.. it's not necessarily the 'real' you that is scarred but more the ego inside you.. If you access your higher mind/spiritual self/connection to the one all you find is oneness/love |

On our personalities and all that. I'd say we are everything we believe we are, and others believe us to be, and then there is another level of what we truly are. Spiritualism, or what I call The Way is going underneath the entirety of the first 2 levels with respect to them and arriving and living entirely from the truest level. That thing you talk about is how I sometimes connect with computers and people or games. It is fun! I call it Riding the Wave or Using the Force (like star wars, lol.) Thanks for helping me to not feel alone in using this technique. (I discovered it using those driving video games, and since then I use it in a lot of different ways.) We are more than our physical self, or what the physical self believes itself to be [Ego]. Consciousness is again like the Riding the Wave. It is there and we can connect to larger or different ones and influence or enjoy it or whatever we choose. At death from the understanding I have, we all die and return to this consciousness without exactly individuality. More like a Bot or Spam that pops up when a certain button is pushed. That is how I understand Ghosts. G2g will reply more later. I do not disagree. It's a big load off to hear about others experiences. It makes this all feel so.. not lonesome. | ||
