Question Intention Manifestation and conflicting ideals

Hello everyone,

I am often thinking about IM and how wonderful it can be, but I always fall back to a cautious position when I think of my pre -conceived ideals and the conflict they may have.

For example, lets take an IM for more money to come into my life. I believe that one should "earn" their money. That is to say they must perform some work worthy of the reward. Because of this, I think that IM will not work for me as it should since I will always be questioning whether or not I deserve the reward. If I was to remove this conflict then I have another worry that I might turn into one of those people to whom money is the ultimate prize and it doesn't matter how many people get stepped on as long as I get mine.

I know this is probably a defeatist way of thinking but I have always wanted to do the right things in life and not hurt anybody. I also have an overwhelming feeling that I am very close to making big steps toward financial independence, if it weren't for these beliefs.

Has anyone had these same thoughts and overcome them?

My quick thought on this is that you are most of the way there, that you aren't trying to intend more money and failing over and over without any real understanding of what's going on.

Other people will have great ideas, but try this: what if you intended money for other people? That may get around some of the conflicting beliefs that you have, yet be a good practice to build some confidence.

Yes, couldn't this really go 'round in a circle?

Say you have an unexpected prize of money that comes in, something you intended purely "for the highest good of all", "in a healthy and positive way"....you didn't "earn it" by working a job, selling something on ebay or in any other way that you have conceptually connected with "earning" it as you described.

So you use it not only to further your own trek towards financial independence but also to help others in a meaningful way.....well, can you "earn" money after it comes your way?

I say YEAH !!! And in some belief systems, that's called karma and in others that's called tithing and so on.

It isn't easy to get rid of conflicting beliefs, but try these explanations:

1. You could try adding the phrases "in a fun, easy relaxed manner" (self happiness) and "greatest good of all" (happiness of other people) to your intentions.

2. You can also think of it this way: having money means being able to help others. You can't help anyone by being broke. You may be able to help others a little bit by making an average income. Think of how much you'll be able to help other people if you're making 100K or a million or ten million.
