I like to think of the film Whale Rider as an example of a relevant scenario. Although the protagonist encounters much opposition, her story reveals her true spirit and how, sometimes, traditions need to be broken.

Actress Keisha Castle-Hughes draws viewers in with her quiet determination and honesty. Your heart goes out to this little girl, who will not give up on winning her grandfather's full affections and the respect of her Maori people.

Thanks UPL, I'm not on a crusade, my goal is simplify and let others see it doesn't have to be overly complex. I look at Robbins and the others and I think 'good on them for helping others and well done for making money' I love money, money is an awesome tool, but what I don't like is the constant padding out and over complicating of simple ideas for profit rather than assistant.

A very well known PD guru is quoted as saying "I always wanted to help others, but now I'm in it for the money" I hate that. I see a lot of frustration in the PD and self help areas, many people want the simple truth, not wrapped up in a package at $995+ accessories.

Max Power: No matter what the industry or discipline, we can always find people who are in there, "for the money." Think of doctors, accountants, lawyers, businesspeople, writers, and others. This doesn't have to detract from the genuine, good-hearted and talented people in each industry who really reach out to assist, inform and empower others. I like to focus on people who make a positive difference. Karma will take care of the others.

I completely agree, we just need to help others see the good from the bad or at least the one's who want to see the content of your wallet before they show you the content of their knowledge, which often at best is nothing new.

People are free to do whatever they want, but it doesn't hurt to aid in making informed choices.

Oh, when a money-minded PD guru appears in someone's reality, it's because that someone has manifested that money-minded PD guru.

In other words, the customer has had thoughts to the effect that he's willing to pay for some potentially valuable insights, and therefore the money-minded PD guru appeared in that customer's reality.

Whereas ALG believes that he can obtain potentially valuable insights for free. That is why Steve Pavlina's blog appeared into ALG's reality. I manifested his blog into my reality.

Why? Because it's a battle neither of us can win. I can't conclusively prove LoA exists any more than can prove it doesn't. I got involved because I saw it working in my life. Not the other way around. You will find plenty of reading there, both for and against. And probably even some crazies too!

But basic science summary
1. All matter is energy vibrating at different rates.

2. Thoughts, and intentions emit detectable energy waves (a recent experiment in new scientist had scientists able to predit a persons intention with 70% accuracy. It was in this same sub forum I think, or maybe the IM one.)

3. Energy waves can affect matter and other energy waves. Put your head into a microwave, or take a nap on a radar dish to prove this one. Or put a mobile phone near a speaker if the first two put you off.

4. So LoA at least is possible not as a magical mystical dream fantasy along with unicorns and fairies, but as a physical manifestation of cause and effect. thoughts = energy waves = able to potentially affect matter. You are writing it off without even accepting the possibility.

'The world was flat' was once hocus pocus too.
So was the radio,
the telephone,
the internet,
viruses,
flight,
the automobile,
gravity,
relativity,
democracy,
the list goes on...

Every generation loves to look back at the previous one and revel in how much more they now know than those 'simpletons' and their outdated limited thinking. And how blind and stubborn they were to not believe that men could fly or that go into space.

Yet that same generation immediately turns around and makes the same assumptions that they now know everything and any new idea is crazy hocus pocus.

Until the next generation proves it...

There is a reason that most if not all of the people, past and present, who have become fabulously successful agree it works, (and not all of them from selling it either) and the people who claim it doesn't work are unsuccessful.

You still haven't found me a single successful figure past or presentm who has become successful while denying LoA or something similar.

I like what you said about past generations. They are stubborn, and often do discount the possible the something like our thoughts, have an effect on our reality. I think more people should watch the secret, and interpret it in their own way. Obviously not everthing in the secret is 100% accurate, that was the producers interpretation of the law of attraction. But the secret does have some validity, based on numerous people following the principles and achieving results. So we cannot completely throw away the idea of the law of attraction, but interpret in our own way so we can experience the most benefit from it.

As for quantum physics. They have show great confidence in the idea that you cannot observe something passively. The simple act of observing has a direct impact on what is being observed. What does this say about how our thoughts impact reality? It gives the possibility that our thoughts could potentially have an impact on our external enviroment, and overall perception of reality.

So the potential that we affect our reality with our thoughts exists. We are only touching the tip of the iceberg on this subject, and we have so much to learn still. I think we should take the law of attraction for what it is, and learn from it, and with it, so we can better ourselves and others in the best way possible.
