Default Intentions versus affirmations

What's the difference between intentions and affirmations?

Thanks.

Intentions are what you plan to do. Any kind of goal. For example, "I intend to attract into my life a million dollars."
Affirmations are phrases (ususally repeated to ones self) designed to help install a belief. For example, "I am comfortable with and deserve financial abundance." You tell yourself that enough times, and you start to believe.

An intention is a thought about what you want to do. It's an "action thought." I intend to pick up my cup of tea off the table.

An affirmation is designed to help dissolve and replace any negative beliefs. Carrying on the above example, most of us already believe they can pick up the tea cup, so wouldn't need an affirmation. But someone in rehabilitation, learning how to move again, may benefit from something like, "I have full range of motion in my healthy arms."

An interesting side-effect of repeating affirmations (that are personal to you) is it gets you in an incredibly empowered state - you feel great, and grateful!!
