Default believing there is conflict with intentions

So, I have career a. I enjoy career a. I love b. It's not my career, it's my passion, what I spend my free time on. I have belived I can't make a living from my passion, but that's a belief, which I recognize.

I'm heavily invested in career a. I need more income, I want to start advancing in my life. So part of me says, throw everything behind career a and do what you love on evenings and weekends. Another part says, forget that, put everything, all the time, behind career a. This is your "one shot" you're "not getting any younger (I'm 30)" etc. Then even another part says, go for b. Forget about a. If you want b, it will show up, and if you don't go for b, you'll always regret it.

Something is keeping me stuck in thinking I can't have both, or that I have to choose, and after getting into IM, I'm almost afraid to make a decision here because I believe it may offset my intentions. I feel conflict and indecision, and that's what I'm getting. Part of me says, "this is not a big deal. Just move forward. Do stuff. You'll figure it out as you go along."

Maybe that's a little convoluted but I wonder if you've had a similar experience?

I've seen it a few times, even have the book. Maybe it's just a question of rewiring the brain, and believing in what's possible.

My perspective on this is pretty simple. Have both.

It may not seem immediately apparent to you how you can have both, but trust me, there is a way, and if you set your intention properly, the universe will manifest it for you. If you choose between one or the other, there will always be a regret of some kind. So don't choose.

You may temporarily have to focus more on one than the other and that's ok. Do what you've got to do, but don't keep telling yourself that it has to be one or the other, because that is never the case. Find other people who are juggling and enjoying their life (I am one of those people) if you need proof that it can be done.

You want to be successful in both careers and have time to have a life? Great! Set that as your intention. Focus on the feeling of having that.

Instead of asking yourself which one you'd rather be doing, ask yourself "how can I get everything I want and be happy?" Don't worry if you don't have an answer right away. You'll probably need to clear away some of those old cobwebs that are preventing you from having both before you see how, but it will come.

Expect miracles,
Rebecca

Thanks Rebecca,

I think that's what I needed to hear. There ARE other people doing it. I may be making excuses here to not move forward with my life. You have to be careful, it's easy to talk yourself out of something, and you think you're being logical but you're really just afraid and trying to avoid pain.

Somehow over the last couple years, I have created this concept of conflict between one or the other. Like I can't do both. But, I've BEEN DOING BOTH anyway! Sheesh. 8 hours a day doing one, evenings and weekends doing the other. And all the time I could have been doing the other, I would get bummed "oh darn I wish I didn't have to do that all the time, so I could do this. So I won't do anything because it sucks."

Anyway. I'll be re-reading your post. I've invented this conflict and it's kept me from moving forward in both.

I will figure it out. As I go along. One day at a time.
