Can the LOA work sort of backwards?

One of the ways I would like to start generating some income is by breeding a few more mares each year. I have been feeling high on the LOA for the past few weeks, so I went online and found two mares that sounded perfect for what I needed for sale from the same owner as a sort of package deal. They were priced to sell, the right size, the right breeding, from what the owner told me they sounded like the right temperament...everything. I also felt like it was a sign when the girl who moved her horse to my barn on the first of February turned out to have boarded at the barn where these mares were coming from. She said they were cute horses and I got excited. Two weeks ago I didn't have the money in my checking account to get them, but I told myself I was turning it over to the universe. Well, the money didn't come through, so I decided to let the opportunity go by. I had gotten the impression that the owner was willing to take payments or work the deal however I wanted to, but I had lost enthusiasm and just told her I wasn't interested any more. I was a little disappointed though, because I felt like I must have done something wrong in my manifesting.

Well, I was talking to the girl who moved to my barn last night and she asked me if I had gone to look at the mares yet. I told her that, no, I hadn't and I probably wasn't going to because it just hadn't worked out for me right now. She then casually said, "Oh, well, I was going to tell you something I remembered after I talked to you, but I guess now it isn't important. One of those mares had a joint problem that the vet said was congenital. The joint fused so it doesn't bother her any more, but for awhile she was lame." The thing is, you never want to breed a problem like that. Without a really thorough and expensive veterinary exam, it wouldn't have shown up and I most likely would NOT have had the exam done if I had come up with the money to buy the mares. Also, a joint problem like the one she described will fuse so that the horse is comfortable living a normal, no extra activity life, but it wouldn't be able to stay sound for riding. All in all, NOT having that wish come true REALLY saved my butt. So, is that the LOA taking care of me in a backwards kind of way or what?? In trying to remember how I phrased my wants, I am thinking I might have included something like, "I am turning this over to you to handle in the best way you see fit." I usually tack on something like that when I can't see a way to make something work. Last night I didn't think a whole lot of it, but this morning I woke up thinking, "Hey, maybe that WAS the Universe handling it in the best way by NOT giving me the funds to buy those horses."

I don't want to over analyze things, but this just struck me as being provident.

Absolutely yes, I've also observed this phenomenon. Though I think it is the universe protecting us and keeping us on our path, not LoA, which I think is just one force of several that helps to shape our path.

In this case, it looks like with LoA you intended to attract something into your life, but those objects didn't fit into your plan, so the universe protected you from them.

Another phenomenon is experiencing an event that initially appears negative, in matters that we didn't directly intend, that ends up steering us in a super-positive direction.

I've also had a similar experience of intending something very intensely for a period of several months, that I was frustrated not to have gotten, but later down the line I saw that achieving that would have been detrimental or even dangerous for me. I definitely think that there is another force at work to guide us and protect us, and that LoA is NOT the final word in these matters.

It is the LOA, but it works this way, when you are using your internal guidance system, which tells you when you are on, or off course. You let the Universe handle it, and that is on course with your well-being. If you had tried to force it, you'd have felt the frustration of coming up with the money through force, and then if you managed to come up with the bucks to put on these horses, it would have proven to be not on course, and you'd have lost lots of money, and probably suffered many disappointments in the breeding etc...So, leaving it up to the Universe was exactly in alighnment to your well-being.

A very important line from Think and Grow Rich applies here. (paraphrased because my book is elsewhere)

An educated man is not one who has accumulated a large amount of specialised knowlege. An educated man is one who can gain anything he wants or it's equivalent without violating the rights of others.

How is this relevant?
Look at the words...

...or it's equivalent...

Sometimes LOA will not bring us the exact thing we -think- we want, but something that is it's equivalent or greater.

You said you intended to get those horses, but really your intention was to get good breeding mares. This overriding intention will ensure that if you stay on track you will get mares which are the equivalent or better to the good breeding mares intention.

You didn't want those horses because of what they were, you wanted them because you thought they were good for breeding. One of them at least wasn't.

You got exactly what you intended, it didn't get reversed.

I didn't think of it that way. You are right. My intention is to get good, sound breeding mares so that I can start producing solid quality sporthorse stock. So the Universe got it dead on by helping me pass on those mares. Cool!
