 |  Ok is this 2012 a hoax or not?
i came across this page, obviously selling something, saying they know the real truth about 2012 & saying there will be complete disasters, revealing secrets that everyone is 'hiding from you' 2012 Official Countdown - Learn What Will Happen in 2012 i think the total value of their "must have" package is $259.80. i could be wrong but i checked in the bottom...ok $49.95 perosnally i dont believe it b/c these conspiracy theories of the end of the world happened in the 60s & others times in the past, which turned out to be worng what do you think...is it real or fake? |

the shift that some say will occur in 2012 is real (multiple prophecies point to this date, but future potentials are always in flux). this message being marketed seems basically fake, or at least i have absolutely no resonance with it. the only way that message could make any sense is if they are talking about a frequency split, what would happen to those who reject the change. feels way off base to me but i'm not rejecting the change either.

From what I know, the 2012 "end" or "shift" or "change" idea came originally from a book published about 20 years ago. The book was a translation of the "Popul Vuh" ("Mayan Calendar), which calendar apparently seemed to describe nothing past the date of 2012 in our own calendar system. But, then, what does this tell us? Anyhow, the basic idea entered into the general "new age" shared culture & mindset, and a lot of people developed books, web sites, and workshops around it. When a Mayan world ends, it moves into a new world time frame. It doesn't mean the earth is going to cease being or that people won't make it through the transition. I subscribe to the view of Gregg Braden. In his version, the Hindus, the Chinese, the Egyptians and the Hopi also talked quite a bit about this change at this time. My understanding is that we are crossing a photon meridian in the Milky Way, after which we will be heading back to the source of its energy. The Hopis continue that we are living a dream within a dream, and we will awaken in a new dream.... Doesn't this sound like the basis of A Course in Miracles or Subjective Reality? |

Hi Cylon! They weren't destroyed. They stepped into an alternate reality, a parallel universe. This is the only explanation for an advanced culture to suddenly disappear. In other words, they disappeared. |

the "end" it will mean that it will end this world as we know it now. it wont be the same as today cause people will awake to the true spiritual side of life.it is the only reality infact ( that is why Hopi say we are living inside the dream) the dream is the egoic world.once we let go of the Ego,we will reunite with our source/Energy. yes,it is conected to the Course in Miracles. there is no need to be afraid.there is nothing to fear.we will go "somewhere over the rainbow..." like in the song  |

I second the changing rather than ending answers. The world never ended before...if it did we wouldn't be here, things simply change form and ascend to higher states of being. Science may say things died...but that's science, if you believe in states beyond that you will come to an understanding at one point that its the end to an old way and a beginning to a new way.

but to die is only the real awakening. not the end itself. the end is when we born . that is the temporary end of our conection to the Origin. therephore....you are already dead when you are born..and you will only be alive when you "die!" |

Thats a great way to put it, really touches on the spirit a lot, you just have to remember always that you are just spirit, and you are experiencing life on Earth as a Human. You shouldn't be afraid of 2012, or even worried about it at all, because what ever happens you will always be who you are, maybe not in the same form, but you will still be. Fearing death or the end, which there really is no such thing off, is for those who are still not fully accepting that life never stops, but is infinite and will always continue no matter what. |

I think this is based on a whole heap of half truths and it is been marketed as the end of the world because that will get people's attention. There MIGHT be a change but it certainly isn't going to result in the world coming to and end and everyone just dropping dead. Remember this is being marketed through the media and the media pretty can say and spin anything the way they want because they have access to the masses. I was basing that off this Yahoo article I read: 2012 isn't the end of the world, Mayans insist - Yahoo! News I should have said that "some" Mayans are not too worried about it. |

I'd separate two things: There is this belief around 2012 that has been around for quite a while in esoteric circles (though the "scenarios" differ a lot). It is up to everybody to decide for himself if he wants to believe that. And then there is the new fad of monetizing it, which I have seen for the first time connected to the movie. Erin wrote a blog post on this a year ago after being asked repeatedly: 2012 and the End of the World There are also other threads on 2012 on this forum. |
