Default How did you find intention-manifestation/LoA?

Hi.

So im new here, and was just wondering how everyone came to find IM/LoA.

For me, since i was a young boy, i'd noticed how i could impartially affect situations. Wasnt ever quite sure how i did, or how to do it consciously 100% of the time. So, it lead me for 5 years of research into metaphysics/magick, energy manipulation, cosmic ordering, communicating with my sub-conscious.
After it all, im still clueless as to how it really works, but its been interesting, seen "miracles" happen.

Everyone else?

I'm not clueless; I'm very informed.. "new age" information filled in all the holes I had with scientific/observer study of the planet and people.. (unlike many of my counterparts.. I did not need to see the truth in mathematic study or rigorous testing of ideas in the scientific mindset) the 1st message was abraham-hicks (rejected) the second message I accepted was "the secret" that was a cornerstone to re-evaluation of abraham-hicks

My first encounters with the LoA came back in the late '80s, when I was a teenager. My then-stepmother was into a lot of New Age stuff, and got my dad into it, too; they used to go see channelers. They were into Ramtha or a while, and another called Zoroaster (or Zarathustra?). At about the same time, my mom and then-stepdad were into Think and Grow Rich and Og Mandino's books. So even though it didn't strike a spark in me back then, I was exposed to it.

In my early 20s, I got into Sanaya Roman/Orin and Duane Packer/DaBen's books. I did get a lot out of them, even back then, and I can still recommend them now. But here's the weird thing--all of the LoA stuff in them? I just didn't get it. Yeah, I could read the words, and understand them, but the real meaning of what was being said just didn't sink in; it seemed to roll right off my brain.

I came across my old copies in storage recently and re-read them for the first time in over 15 years. All of the stuff I'd underlined and made notes about because it seemed so meaningful back then now seemed so basic and obvious. And all of the stuff I'd skipped over, and didn't even remember being in the books? Straight-up LoA stuff.

The one book of theirs that I didn't still have was Creating Money. And it was the book of theirs I'd liked least. I remember feeling annoyed by it, and thinking that they were pushing it too far--possibly into spiritual scammer territory--and got rid of long ago. So I manifested a copy (via a thrift store, for $.79 instead of $1.99 because the cashier decided to ring all of my books up as lower-priced kids' books "because you look like a happy lady"--but I digress). And that book? Is an outstanding book on using IM/LoA. I read it earlier this week, and I highly recommend it.

But as I read it, I just kept shaking my head--this was everything I've been learning over the last two years. It covers everything I talk about when I post here--identifying the deepest essence of what you want, instead of getting hung up on things that merely symbolize it; letting go of the outcome; taking inspired action toward your goals; and creating your happiness right here, in the present, within yourself, whatever your outward circumstances may be.

I just wasn't ready for all of that, 15-20 years ago. I didn't want to hear about how I had to change myself in order to change my world--I wanted to be able to snap my fingers and have whatever I wanted just show up. But now I read the same books and it all makes perfect sense.

And now I'm trying to remember how I got back into the LoA. I'm pretty sure it was through Abe-Hicks; I didn't see The Secret movie until after I was acquainted with their work. But how I discovered them? I don't remember. But I don't think it's all that important, to be honest.

My first encounter with LOA was the typical "The Secret" film a few years ago. I became interested in it but only had limited knowledge; the Secret only tells you little information. Its not a secret though foremost. Throughout my research, I gained a lot of information that gave a slightly different perspective to what the so-called "Secret" gave. I'm not putting it down but simply stating that it lacks valuable information that deliberate intention manifestation needs.

First time was when I was a kid, apparently making rain (and on one occasion, snow). Then 'real life' kicked in and screwed me up

Ten years ago I made an online acquaintance who claimed he could do some pretty bizarre things, and that the explanation could be found in Richard Bach's "Illusions" (in fact, the only of Bach's works he thought much of).

After that came the Secret, then The Intention Experiment, a series of other books and websites, and at last I found myself here.

Through this "Personal Development for Smart People" site, a little after the beginning of the year.

So it's new- At the same time, I have a lot of memories to look back through . . . It's really interesting how your paths work out. Because I've had experiences being completely different people in terms of the perspectives I've held, so I've put myself in a fun position to digest many viewpoints. Moving quickly through extremes can sort of catapult you. The novelty leads to some fun levels of ambition/ferocity/intensity that wouldn't be there if I'd grown up with this level of awareness. It's a wonderful game.
