How to work around short-term issues with goal?
I have a goal right now that I am trying to use affirmations for, but it is difficult because there are so many intermediate steps. My ultimate goal is to get a job with the public school board as a full-time teacher. I am hoping to take a French course to improve my chances. I was trying to picture myself in my mind as a French teacher teaching my class, and I was at a French bookstore recently and was eyeing their teacher materials and trying to picture myself using them. I even saw the textbook used for the course. But the whole time, I kept thinking 'what if I do not pass the interview to get into the course' or 'what if the course is too hard and I can't finish it' or 'what if I get kicked out of the course because I have internet problems' (you have to log in every other day). Of course, not having internet problems is not really the goal. I would even say that passing the interview is not really the goal. Yet my success with my ultimate goal is dependent on these things. I want to start working on the ultimate goal stuff because I am really nervous about getting a good job for the coming school year and I need to start preparing for that right now because interviews start soon. But I also have some anxiety about what if I do not get into the course (my friend who has taken it assures me my French is quite up to par, that you can bring reference books to the interview and that I will for sure get in). But, bigger picture, the course is only a small part of it. Any suggestions for how to best proceed?
