Can anyone recall what was said about aging in the films to do with law of attraction? I remember one or two films, it might have been 'The Secret' or 'What the bleep..'...but there was something said about elasticity of the skin and aging to do with feelings. Anyway, if anyone has other ideas on this, or would like to share their views, please do. Thanks, Footballman. |

I love this topic coming up now ..... It's a synchronicity!!! I did a serious anti-aging mind session just yesterday. It wasn't pre-planned. Nowadays I often just meditate without having any specific intentions in mind, I watch my own thoughts as they arise, and when I find an interesting one, I allow it to inspire me and become the subject matter of an intention. And my intention yesterday is ... growing younger. |

Indy107 - I remember reading about that article before. It makes me question the role of consciousness. It's almost as though if we want to really gain such benefits from life - like look and feel young, we have to change our beliefs away from the group consensus(or group consciousness). On some occasions when I have read Steve's articles, I have felt something change in me, like I am leaving an old belief and replacing it with another one - usually a more inspiring one...but I always run into some resistance. I suppose this resistance might be my concern about leaving the mainstream and doing things differently - even though I would benefit as an individual, others would think I'm crazy - which might lead to social rejection -something most humans would prefer to avoid. Anyway in terms of aging, I think to gain benefits people will have to move away from socially accepted ideas and this might mean living as more of an individual, not limiting yourself to anything on the grounds of age. |

This might be what you're looking for - it's a quote from "The law of attraction" by Abraham Hicks, who were the main inspiration and reason "The Secret" was created: "The majority have been programmed from their past experience to expect physical decline. And while it is something they don't want, they are programmed to expect it. And so, they're going to get what they expect. It's not that what they expect is the reality that everyone lives, but that everyone lives the reality of what they expect." Excerpted from an Abraham workshop in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, May 7th, 2003 |

Hello! Im also really interested in physical immortality and i personnaly believe that aging isnt at all a fatality For me, aging is the result of bad feelings, bad toughts, and also of being closed to spiritual progress,to enlightment.I think life is an eternal progression and if you get attached to a way of thinking,of living then you stop changing, you slow your ascension. But that is what most of the people do.They dont try to improve themselves,to improve things,to progress. That's what i think but i might be wrong. I also read a book of jasmuheen, who is a woman who lives on cosmic energy and has no need of physical food.(im not joking) She is called to be a breatharian.Breatharian says that foods, some more, some less, but all foods are nocives for the body, using is energy and things like that.they consider immortality as a normal thing. I read also antoher book that you might know,in french it is called "la vie des maitres".(life of the masters) Impressive books talking about wise evoluted people in himalaya, who are immortal, can heal instantly, have special ability like teleporting, living in other realities(im still not joking In this book they talk a lot about immortality, toughts, feelings, love, in a certain way the power of toughts,etc...but they dont explain clearly how do these people achieve to be like that. I think DNA can change when we trully change ourselves in our toughts,feelings,etc.... And im still not joking,im very serious! |

On a more mundane level, all of us have subconscious beliefs, attitudes and expectations about what it means to be 2 years old, or 10 years old, or 21, or 45, or 60, or 100. These subconscious beliefs and attitudes will shape and affect our reality. If we make the effort to lift them up into the light, question them and mould them in the ways that we consciously decide are better, well, then we get a different reality. These attitudes link to our health, but also to other areas of our lives. Whenever we say that we are too young / too old to do something, there's usually some subconscious attitude/belief operating there. The plain truth is that if you look hard enough, then you'll find many examples of individuals doing things that they're supposed to be too young to do, or doing things that they're supposed to be too old to do. Over at the Health & Fitness section of this forum, people were just discussing a 71-year-old man who's been into bodybuilding for many years. He looked like this at age 61: ![]() There's a picture of him at 71 too, looking even better. You can visit the link and check it out. |

There was a thread months ago about an anti-aging by mind power experiment done by Harvard psychologist : Think and Grow YOUNG:Just Say No To Aging Quote from that thread: "How to Use Mind Power to Create Health, Wealth, Happiness and Success Think and Grow Young: Just Say No to Aging A provocative new book from a Harvard psychologist suggests that changing how we think about our age and health can have dramatic physical benefits. By Wray Herbert / Source: Newsweek Imagine that you could rewind the clock 20 years. It's 1989. Madonna is topping the pop charts, and TV sets are tuned to "Cheers" and "Murphy Brown." Widespread Internet use is just a pipe dream, and Sugar Ray Leonard and Joe Montana are on recent covers of Sports Illustrated. But most important, you're 20 years younger. How do you feel? Well, if you're at all like the subjects in a provocative experiment by Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer, you actually feel as if your body clock has been turned back two decades ...
