OK, here's the deal. I've made a commitment to sell some of my artistic creations online (or off, if the circumstances present themselves). I've already set up a work area and begun putting together some of the craft pumpkin creations I was at first doing as an annual hobby, and was getting very good feedback on. I am sure this is common, but I find that when I am creating, I go into a trance of sorts, I suspect/prefer to believe alpha state. Now, maybe it's a positive feedback loop related to my intent In light of the above, can I safely assume that the combination of what's looking to be good 'product' and the good feeling I'm getting from it will get the whole Wax-artist-vocation ball rolling? I've been on this site long enough to know this is a 'stupid' question, but I love the elaboration and insights that come along with the obvious Last edited by Wax Frog; 09-16-2009 at 12:14 PM. |

| yup, that's it. That's the space where all this stuff happens. Actually as a creative person, that is the easiest way to get into the flow and start having even more synchronicities and manifestations, because you're in a complete state of allowing.

I experience this state when I'm coding and doing graphic work for websites, usually early in the morning when I haven't slept... @Waxy, Would you supply a link to your pumpkins for sale (or send me a PM)? |

As an artist, I've learned that surrendering to my muses is a great model for living life in general. What I mean is that when I begin a painting and I start to lose the thread of it and it's just not resonating for me and I am tempted to throw it away, once I surrender to my muses and trust that what I paint will be an outstanding representation of my self-expression, eventually what looks muddy and unclear turns into something magnificent, full of life and energy and consequently fills me with delight. Applying this model to my life: when I set an intention and it doesn't look at all as if what I am intending is going to manifest or I can't for the life of me figure out how something so wonderful could ever manifest for me, I surrender once again to my muses and my confusion turns into clarity and oftentimes what I want manifests or if it hasn't manfested yet I feel more confident that it will. |

Lamusa, I'm glad you posted this, as I have been experiencing that phenom frequently with my new project. For example, I keep reaching points where I either fear I've 'ruined' something, or feel a bit frustrated that what's coming out is not exactly what I visualized, but when that happens I just pull back and let that strange creative/driven part of me take over, tell myself to 'trust the process' - next thing I know I'm just rolling along, working smoothly like some kind of 'art machine', and finally looking at the results with a measure of amazement. Ms. Muse as manifesting manager... that should make for an interesting experiment... Last edited by Wax Frog; 09-17-2009 at 10:41 PM. |

It definitely should! The part about surrendering is so key. In life, I forget to do it. In art it's much easier but I am getting better at applying that model to my life. It often feels scary in much the same way trusting a painting will come out in a way I love - but then that zone kicks in. I bet we'd all manifest things we consciously wanted much faster if we remained in that zone of trusting more. I'm going to notice how it feels to be in the zone in my day to day life.

Ah, this thread comes at an interesting time for me because I just put in three weeks notice at my day job so I can focus on being a FAMOUS ARTIST. And by "famous," I of course mean "starving." Seriously though, I love this discussion of muses because I've been drawing parallels between all these different guides/angels/higher self/broader perspective/totem animals/gods/etc people talk about. I came to an understanding of LOA from the position of a hardcore atheist, so none of these forms people give to the nonphysical have really resonated with me. But the idea of "muses" does a bit, because I feel that even more in my everyday existence/in my "me" (Although I'm starting to get used to the most reasonable answers to any questions I have popping into my head when I internally ask them, even before this appearance of this word "muse," heh.) Anyway, best of luck with this. |

--- Lately I've been noticing the number 55 alot, and last night I was also moved by an email to read up on the concept of the "uncanny valley". So, naturally, while watching a bit of TV, I got hit with these three items in the space of only a couple minutes:
