I've been studying different techniques of IM and was wondering which works better - when we visualize the exact outcome we'd like to experience/manifest or simply state our intentions and allow the Universe to manifest it as It wills? I'm thinking that visualizing the outcome sort of limits what we could actually get if we trust allow the Universe to work It's intelligent magic. But, at the same time, I feel as though we have to be specific about what we want (and even that feels as though I am doubting the Universe and not trusting it to manifest my intention in a way that is in my best interest). What are your thoughts? Which works best or which works best for you?

Thats a great question. I'm new to LOA but I have ready many articles on it and everyone says that one has to be very specific in one's visualization. Quote:

I don't think one technique is better than the other. I just think they are used for different cirumstances and sometimes, at the same time. Like, if you had cancer, and you wished to manifest a cure for yourself, you would obviously be very specific seeking a cure for adenocarcinoma of the lung, not just 'generally healthy' because your maybe felt your situation was dire. But you would also wish to allow the universe to help you manifest for the greater good since it may have been your previous agreement to die from adenocarcinoma for a higher purpose. It's confusing. Somehow I always know what is right. I have, for example, been having trouble manifesting a specific financial goal. I was being extremely specific with this desire. It's been three years and it has not manifested yet. Close but never all the way. I have been receiving huge massive hints of successes by others using a similar way, but definitely not the path I have been working on. Recently I had one of those forehead smacking moments of Duh! Now I have modified my intention to be less specific and boom, it's fallen into place and seems like the gears of the universe that were stuck have begun to move again in the direction of my intention. Technically, you must both visualize and allow. The argument comes from gurus who find one way works miraculously for them so they tell everyone to visualize every chance they get. While another guru finds that creates a "need" factor that blocks his own and his client's manifestations. They only visualize about 5 minutes a day. What works is what works for YOU. But only you can figure that out. Just be patient. Very very patient. Jennifer |

Good point(s), Jennifer. When I think about it, both methods have worked in my life. Maybe I'm getting to wrapped up in trying to use one "sure fire" way to manifest whatever it is that I want. Certain things I can visualize with ease and they come about. Other things are very hard for me to visualize. Maybe because I'm placing way too much importance on them. Those are the things I try to "allow" to happen without forcing myself to visualize. I figure if I've never had it, then I don't know what it feels or looks like. Visualizing it could possibly limit the experience of it for me. I guess it's a matter of finding my "groove" to figure when to use what method.

My basic steps are (and they change sometimes with what feels right to me...I always go with my gut). -Come up with the intention...has to feel good and "right". -Write the intention out specifically...I find the more specific I get, the better-but maybe that's just me. -Imagine myself sending it out to the universe. -Visualize to my heart's desire! However, I don't visualize the exact moment of the manifestation, but how I will feel and what I will do once I have it. -Pretend that I already have it...this is my favorite part. Throughout the whole process, I am constantly reminding myself that the universe has received my intention...but not in a worrying sort of way. More of an excited "The universe has my intention!!!" Works for me! |

Visualization is like aiming the arrow. You point it where you want it to go. Then, you want to convince yourself its possible to hit your target (this is like pulling back the bow string). And last, but not least, you want to ALLOW the new reality to unfold. You do this by ceasing resistance. You have to get out of your own way, and just behave as you would naturally behave (meaning, do whatever your natural inclination is to do, sometimes this will involve random behaviors). That last step is like letting go of the arrow. You stop resisting the potential you have created and the arrow (or energy we might say) shoots out and hits your target, so to speak.
