Default Book Recommendations

Anybody got any book recommendations on Intention-Manifestation model of reality?

Who was the first modern person to write about this in any detail? What were the big breakthroughs in this theory?

Thanks,
Colm

Exclamation

"Ask and it is given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks
it's one of the recommendations by Steve, and seems like a very good book to me (I haven't consciously read it tho, I insist on Photoreading it..)

Probably not the first, but the earliest that I know of is The Game of Life. It dates from 1925.

I second that. It has been most helpful and also the book that made most sense to me intellectually. It never contradicts itself, it doesn't require you to do things that make you feel silly and it offers a fantastic belief system about the meaning of life and the nature of reality. I like it a lot :-)

The Power Of Intention - Wayne Dyer

This isn't about LOA, but it gets you into the right frame of mind and that's everything.

Also Ask and It's Given - The special processes at the second half of the book help alot.

LOA = Law of Attraction. It's another way of saying "Intention/Manifestation"

Hmmz I must say something offtopic here: people really should minimize the use of abbreviations (abbrev's ), it just makes things more confusing than need be.
At my job they really love abbreviations, and too often the people that use them don't even know what they mean anymore. And how silly is it when an Internet Service Provider ( ) doesn't know the term R.F.C. and starts using it for something else?

So far my little rant, thanks for reading..)

It occured to me while reading this thread, that by asking another for answers is all well and good, Doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of actually using the law of attraction?

What i mean is, if you read a suggestion from someone else (which is probably good, don't get me wrong), will you be able to make the transition from what you read to applying it to what you want...

For example,
If I wanted to know some good books on law of attraction, wouldn't it be better for me to ask "myself" "what are some good books on law of attraction" and actually use the law to attract good books, ones that may fit me better than those that others tell you to go read... Not only will you get good books, but you actually "see" the law of attraction in action, to experience what those books talk about. I hope that came out right...

... and then let go of the form. Maybe the form is seeing something on a nascent message board that resonates.

Yes, very true, but you'd first have to know about the law of attraction and how to use it..)

Lil chris,

Interesting point. Here would be my side. I sent out the intention to learn more about the intention-manifestation model. I also sent out the intention to harness the power I have inside of me.

The universe pointed me to this board. I kept my actions in line with my intentions by posting here.

Interesting idea, thanks,
Colm

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy, I believe this was the first book that started it all, I bought it a couple years ago and can't recommend it enough, it was published in 1963.

Loads Of Recommendations

William Walker Atkinson
Charles Haanel

Do A Google Search For Cornerstones Books As That Used To Have A Link That Supplied Names Of Loads Of New Thought (loa) Authors And Also Some Free Works That You Could Read Or Print Off

Great Site

Also Do A Search For A Nice Website (haven't The Name On Me At The Moment Of The Actual Website) But Do A Search For Christian Godfrey.....he Also Has A Website That If You Supply Your Email Address(and I Haven't Had Any Bad Experiences By Doing So) Allows You To Download Some Free Stuff As Well

Some Good Free Stuff On These Sites

Personally, I Find The Stuff From The Turn Of The Last Century More Inspiring Than Most Of The Writers Of Today With The Exception Of Mr Pavlina

Phineas P Quimby Seems To Be The Earliest I Can Trace All This Law Of Vibration Stuff Back To (around 1850)

He Allegedly Was The Originator Of What Went On To Be "christian Science" And Allegedly Treated Mary Baker Eddy When She Was Still Mrs Patterson. His Treatment Of Her Ailments Seems Very Similar To Her Later Works Without Some Of The More Religious Language

So Google:

Cornerstones Books

Christian Godfrey

Charles Haanel

William Walker Atkinson

Happy Hunting

Joe
