Default Post Your IM Mantras Here!

I like mantras because they help me to reprogram my brain, and ultimately change my physiology for the better. If you have any good mantras that you use and would like to share them, I'd love to hear them!

Here's mine for today:

"I attract what is in my highest and best interest"

"Everything is possible because I am ALL power."

And just to show how weird IM can be - I just realized belated that I actually use this as a meditation tool without realizing it. And I thought that I just shut my eyes, listen to this and imagine it because it feels awesome!

Taking my cue from Ben Franklin (or whoever was his source ), I'm going to roll with "I am healthy, wealthy and wise" for a while... unless I'm hit with something better.

Oh my, these are all so great!!
My current favorite Sanscrit mantra is: Om Shrim Maha Lakshmeyhi Swaha. It works amazingly well for bringing good luck and money into your life. You should say it, or think it 108 times, at least once a day for at least 40 days...

Would I be safe in assuming the repetition is more important than the mantra itself?

Hmmm... yes maybe, but the mantra is important as well. I've found with some of these Sanscrit mantras it's a matter of "be careful what you ask for". Seriously, the results that I've exprienced have been both amazing and overwhelming.

Know any that include the word 'panchak'? [half-kidding]

I have been learning about sanscrit mantras and have been using "Satcitananda"...have you used this one before? I think I'll try yours...do you mentally count between each recitation?

In another thread, I talk about how this word Panchak, which I'd long assumed I'd made up, turned out to be Sanskrit word for 'five'. Even it if has no Special Meaning® for me, it still makes me wonder, as 5 itself was a number I latched onto as a child...

That's great, you can mentally count, which is difficult, or you can use a mala, which has 108 beads, and for every chant you come to the next one, until you reach the end one with the tassel. You can also devise your own method, for instance, I laid 10 stones on my right side, and after ten chants I would place one stone on my left side, then after doing that ten times (with 10 stones), I did the chant 8 more times, counting on my fingers. Depending on the chant it doesn't really take very long, and is kind of meditative and relaxing.

Interesting... I've experimented with a few sanscrit mantras and haven't come across that word yet, but I would be willing to bet that there's a mantra with your word (panchak) in it. I'll keep looking and asking.

I like it! I'm always looking for good ways to meditate and this sounds like something that could help me focus. Maybe I'll make my own mala...

Much thanks! If such exists, maybe I was to receive it when ready. I've sometimes seen it spelled 'pancak' BTW.

It's fun to say Miz [username variant]

In the meantime I've been using a phrase that, again, I long assumed was made up - "Panchak na'eh chamash". The latter part turns out to be very similar to Hebrew, and would, to my best guess, mean "beautiful five"*. So I end up with "Five, beautiful five". Cryptic and strange I figured there'd be no harm in taking a leap of faith and assuming maybe it's not just random coincidence, but instead a sort of gift.

*With luck, someone fluent can confirm this for me.
