Me: 1. Chaos Magick philosophical underpinnings - use whatever is of use 2. Nichiren Buddhist practice - kind of an independent/quirky take on this that isn't the standard/mainstream construction of the purpose of the practice. I do gongyo + daimoku practice 2x per day in front of my gohonzon (practice mandala). I chant for stuff but the end result generally is that I get insight, not stuff. LOA is for the "stuff". Daimoku has more of the effect of "greasing the gears" of my LOA machine, than being a LOA machine in and of itself. 3. Law of Attraction practices - typically deep meditative states and what I call the "Ceiling Process". 4. some Huna stuff |

Ceiling Process While you're in bed, clear your thoughts. Look up at the ceiling, and imagine it being completely black.. see it like a TV screen. What it is that you wish, imagine it *on your ceiling*, and hold this thought as you go to sleep. This was taught to me by my dad at age 5. I kept pestering him to get me a kitty cat. Finally, he came up with this, thinking he was shutting me up. I tried it, imagining every detail of the cat that I wanted. Imagine his surprise when the cat showed up at the bottom of the stairs the next day. We had her for 21 years - best cat I ever had |

Opening up my Gohonzon and playing guitar in front of it, is a VERY Chayote approach. Mixing traditional magick techniques with Buddhism, is ALSO very Chayote. As is practicing Nichiren Buddhism but considering myself a DARKWORKER!! I initially took up the practice as a form of paradigm piracy, but ended up integrating it seamlessly into my own worldview. (By the way, I'm starting to question that I'm a darkworker at all. Not whether to be one, but that I really am one.)

| I believe you. I've been around enough to know they are all unique I sometimes wonder if I 'manifested' my buddy Tev; the kitten I fell in love with when I was 8, on a visit to a farm belonging to a friend of the family, had the same kind of fur pattern, but I shortly after found him run over... Maybe it wasn't our time yet, so to speak? Last edited by Wax Frog; 07-07-2009 at 02:33 AM. |

1. I also ended up in the ChaosMagick forums of various sites, I think this happened because I was looking for what worked and did not get hung up on labels and dogma. I'm not familiar with any of your #2 stuff 2. I also work with various types of trance states and self hypnosis. I actually think it's hard to really differentiate between the two, one may use words, images or even symbols to implant concepts into the subconscious. I find that the deeper the trance state I achieve the faster and more permanent the changes in my reality will be. The trick is to ride that razors edge right at unconsciousness, probably low theta or approaching delta brain wave patterns. If you go too far (for me anyway) I lose the ability to form thoughts, much less speak, this is usually the point where extremely vivid images will just spontaneously start running through my mind. 3. I am still an avid reader and try new things occasionally. One trusty old staple I use is the very simple "gratitude list" which helps keep me focused on the "haves" instead of the "have nots". I also do use some of the archetypal forces that have been built up over time by different groups of people

Me too. The optimum state is midway between wake and sleep, when I still have conscious control. If I am "stuck" on something (try doing love LOA with a bad oneitis!!) my mind will just drift back into fantasy or memories, I haven't yet learned to get past this. |

It is a very peaceful place to be, and true, it's tempting to say "it can't get better than this". If I don't meditate frequently it becomes somewhat difficult to enter this space and it is very elusive, like sitting on a pin head or going "through the eye of a needle"...fleeting. Some of the imagery I've experienced in this state was almost like visual hallucinations, seemed "better than real" , and in super Technicolor.
