Basically it boils down to whether or not your thoughts or beliefs directly influence your experience of reality, and to what extent. That's an oversimplification, to be sure, but if you look around you'll pick up on the particulars of the idea pretty quickly.

I'm interested in how "polarization" fits in on a board about manifesting, heh. I mean, "polarization" in the sense of taking more and more extreme views in the midst of an argument. Like, for instance, that topic about eyes? There was kind of the statement going on that the younger person was bringing about feelings of being attacker when he/she (forgot which) wasn't. But, at the same time, isn't everyone else creating an individual who cannot understand them by saying, "You don't understand," etc. It's weird to talk about focusing on connection between people on one hand, and then on the other to pull apart another person's statements quote by quote to tell them what they're saying and how it's wrong (although they just said what they're saying and they feel that it's correct.) Does that make sense? Anyway, I've seen/caught myself doing it and I've seen others do it and it's just kinda funny, hee hee. Since we're talking about debates and kinda dead-end arguments, anyway. |

| It is quite fun, and there are many ways to do it. Here's one simple example that you can try. 1. Choose a slightly negative situation or event in your life. Eg perhaps it is a job that you don't like that much. Or perhaps a family member who has recently irritated you. 2. Now, find a quiet spot, relax yourself, maybe do some stretching. Then close your eyes, breathe slowly and deeply, and meditate until your mind grows relatively still. 3. Next, start considering the event/situation. 4. Think of all the good things in that event or circumstance. Eg all the good things in that job, or all the good qualities about that family member. 5. No need to tell yourself any "lies". Just focus on what you honestly think is good in the situation. For example, perhaps your boss is nasty, but you do have one colleague who is your friend. So think about that. Perhaps your family member and you had an argument last week, but think about the many happy times you've spent together in the past. Etc. 6. Think, think, think. 7. End your exercise. Now, do this a couple of times a week, for two weeks, and you'll find that your reality begins to change. Nothing very bizarre, unusual or weird about this exercise. But it's good for starters. Eventually you can move on to bigger and weirder manifestations. |
