I got a great tip from a member of this forum, on how to use Powerpoint to create slide shows to help with visualizations. This tip has been very helpful. I'm finding though, that some of the things I've chosen to be in my slide shows, are a bit hard for me to imagine manifesting. For example, I've chosen to meditate about moving into my dream flat in Paris and right now...that's so far from where I am now, it feels very distant. Instead, I'm thinking about putting up pictures of an apartment that is just a little but bigger than the one I have now. I feel that this is a more realistic goal for me. This way, I believe it will be easier for me to move into a larger space and then over time, into my dream flat. My question is, is it ok that I'm taking everything slow? I'm also using the same approach when it comes to attracting a relationship. And what I mean by that is, I only focus on improving my relationship with myself, instead of spending time intending a relationship with another person. I don't want to be with someone else, unless I am secure in who I am. I'm learning to be to myself, what I would love to have in another person. Also, with my financial goals, I'm intending to make 40% more money than I made last year, instead of wishing for say $200,000 this year. I really believe I can increase my income by 40% in 2007 because I'm learning new skills and already new business is coming my way. I feel confident in reaching this goal. So my question to everyone is, am I wrong to take everything slow? I know personal growth is a life long process, but I want to be realistic and not do wishful thinking. Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks |

Hi Alexia, I posted a thread wondering/asking about the same thing...and the suggestions there were to post you utlimately want - including that apartment in paris. having trouble 'believing' it...well start making your apartment (or home) now look a little like your one in paris would be.. What about when your I-M/goal has different stages? Quote:

Phew! Thanks Dor, for replying to my message. It's good to know that I'm not the only one trying to figure this out. What Rebecca said in the reply to your post makes so much sense, and I will follow her advice. Also, I like the idea of making my current flat (I live in two flats) look like my dream home in Paris. I could add a new painting to my wall and change the furniture. And I will continue to meditate about what I really want, instead of what I "think" I can have. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it |

Alexa, There is no 'one way' that fits everyone, because we are all slightly different. Different beliefs, different programming from birth, different experiences that have trained us to believe a certain way. All I know is that 'the right' way will feel right to you. You'll know if it doesn't feel right. Some people swear by having pictures of desires placed around them, others read out lists of affirmations. Personaly, I just use mental visualisation whenever I can. I don't write and I don't have pictures, but that doesn't mean it isn't right for you. As for going slow, again it's not what someone else thinks unless it reasonates with you, it comes back to how you've been programed since birth, what kind of pre-installed barriers are you up against. If I wanted an increase in money I would focus on an exact amount, not a percentage, but that's just me. The important thing is not to fear your power, by underestimating what you can accomplish, why settle for just a small increase, unless of course you're testing the process, which of course seems a little self defeating as it will work or it won't. I suppose a test is acceptable, but it seems to carry to much doubt with it. If you have to test it, doesn't that mean you doubt the power? What feels right to you? That's the way to decide what is best. Just my 10c hope it helps. Jeff |

Slowness has certain advantages. The reason is that people sometimes wish for big things in a hurry, but they don't realise that their lives are a system; each part affects all the rest; and if a big thing happens in one area of your life, other areas are affected too. Suppose for instance you want to have a dream flat in another country - did you ever consider all the possible implications? You may have to move; you may have to give up your current job; you may lose certain friends that you have in your current location etc. Now, how slowness helps is that if things happen step by step, you can always decide along the way that hey, maybe THIS is not what I really want. |

To Judge45: I agree with you, I should be a bit more specific than saying I want to earn 40% more. I would feel better if I decided on a certain figure. And taking is it slow is comfortable to me. To Acting Like Godot: You hit the nail on the hammer. Taking things slow is the best for me. I'm already living in two countries right now and it requires A LOT of work to get into a comfortable pattern. I will continue to take it slow. Thanks everyone |

I think the judge offers some good advice there. Whatever floats yur boat. whatever feels good and like it's working for you is what is right for you. May be one thing, may be more than one thing. Depending on where you are in your life. You ask if it's okay that you are taking it slow. No one here can (seriously) tell you if it's okay. You would, again, have to decide what's right for you. Sometimes I find that by reading the posts of others or reading about techniques in books, etc., I can feel a resonance if it is in accordance with my intentions. You might want to do a search on Abraham-Hicks segment intending. Or pick up the book, Ask & It is Given. It addresses your questions very well and if it feels right for you, it might be a great resource for you. As with anything or any one resource, you can take away what works and leave the rest for others who might need it, so to speak. | |

alexb, ive done similar things to what you are asking the universe to help you with. my goals were reasonable, and achievable though i did not exactly know how it would happen. i remember reviewing those goals mentally every day, and envinsioning a hypothetical scenario how it might play out. i didnt obssess over my goals, but when i had some "down time" i was would always remind myself where i would like things to go. i just lived my life normally. always tried to keep things in perspective. then each time, i would get a surprise, and things would somehow happen. i was mentally prepared for it, since i reviewed it nearly every day...so it was easy to accept what fell into place and run with. in fact ive seen things like this happen, and (in my life) are accompanied by other synchronicities...such as deja vu. when i got my current job here in TX, i had an idea of the kind of hosue i wanted. i picked a realtor off the internet, and amazingly the first place he took me had the exact house i had imagined. we looked at other houses, but nothing was as good as that one. it was perfect. after i made an offer on the house he was driving me back to the hotel and i had a momentary deja vu experience, where i remembered myself driving on a dark TX highway with this "strange guy" in his SUV. i was one of the coolest experiences ever for me...cuz i knew i somehow had manifested it by perhaps exploring future outcomes subconsciously and i chose the one that i wanted...and consciously i lived out the steps to make it happen until that moment where my present reality intersected (snapped) with my desired future timeline (hence, deva ju). i know, that was kinda deep...but it does work, though i cant really explain it much better than that. and yes, the book mentioned previously "ask and it is given" is very good and a must read. m. |
