Pardon the name that I chose, but its older name is worst, "Concentration Camp Challenge." I like it because its abbreviation is the same to the studio where I go to. Furthermore, it sounds masculine. Not that that matters ofcourse. Nevertheless, the purpose of this challenge is to develop the habit organizing my focus. As of this moment, the only method I use is praying. Here is a sample of the prayer that I use. Quote:
School: - None so far, I think. Dance: - Met tons of inspirational dancers. - Met top choreographers. - Dancer for a music video. - More energy for dancing. Social: - Increased encounters with old friends. - Increased number of people calling, texting, and messaging me. - I got number closed by several girls. Hey, its a big deal to me okay! - Increase encounters with mature and wise people. I use praying to aid me on focusing my thoughts because the people that I've observed that uses it embodies characteristics and values that I admire. The people that I know who uses this method habitually are humble, grateful, and comfortable with uncertainty, and I wish to develop those characteristics. My task is to report whether I read my prayer or not. By doing this so, I hope to develop the awareness to spot opportunities when they come. This will be the format of my report. --------------------------------------------------------- Example: Date: May 19, 2009 Morning Prayer: Yes Evening Prayer: Yes Comments: [blah blah] -Franciz ---------------------------------------------------------- Praying alone is very limited, so if you guys know of any other method of focusing your thoughts, intentions, or whatever you call it please give me suggestions. Date: June 6-7, 2009 Morning Prayer: Yes/ Yes Evening Prayer: Yes/ Yes Comments: For my social goal, I did a surprise birthday party for my friend at a restaurant. I took her to the restaurant wearing a blind fold on. I sat her down and I took the blind fold off. The entire restaurant cheered and sang happy birthday. The end. A new opportunity for dancing arose again. I can get an unlimited dance pass for 2 months. That means I'll be able to increase my learning by A LOT. I'll have the freedom to take different styles of dancing. However, I have a big challenge in order for me to be able to enjoy my unlimited dance classes. It cost 10 dollars to go back and forth from where I live to where the dance studio is. Aside from the money issue, it takes me 2.5-3 hours to travel from my place to the studio as well. One solution that comes to mind is that I could live half of the week at my friend's home, which is only 13 minutes away from the studio. The other solution is, I buy myself a bus pass, which will greatly reduce the cost of traveling. Yet still, these solutions have their own challenges. For my first solution, accommodation and food issue poses a problem. In addition, I don't want to mooch of my friend. I still have to talk to my friend about it so I don't really know about this one yet. For my second solution, time is the biggest issue. I might have to leave work early so I can arrive on time for my classes. This might put my job at risk and I can't afford to lose my job especially at this critical time. I still have a month to come up with solutions on how I can take on this challenge. I wish I have unlimited money so I can just dance all day. Well, just my opinion, but I feel that this part: Quote:
For example, you need courage for university, only if in the first place, you do believe that university is a scary or painful experience. | |
