Hi, I have noticed within the last few months that my hair might be thinning a little. Nothing too major but im worried its a sign of more to come since my dad is bald. Now my question is can we manifest our hair to stay at a current state or get thicker? Does anyone have any expeirence with this? I am 26 years old and really dont want to go bald. So I thought why not use my mind to make my hair thicker? I mean this is possible right? Anyone done this? Thanks |

This question totally made me think! I mean, I have definitely had things in my life that were very concrete that I wanted to be a certain way, and I was unsure how to view them or deal with them in an IM context. One thing that comes to mind is that I see IM as a sort of instigator of brainstorming, which can be very helpful. When I go into an IM state of mind, it causes me to look for possibilites, options, opportunities on how to deal with the issue, rather than limitations. I think this is extremely helpful. Regarding your specific question about hair, I would suggest starting by setting the intention to have a positive experience regarding your hair. That will give you motivation to look for options. Then start researching and learning whatever interests you about hair. Maybe you will come across something dietary you can do, or something like that. If you keep sending out the intention to the universe, then other opportunities will also come your way, perhaps in the form of people who will know how to keep your hair and info that will help you. |

I have manifested my hair to get thicker as did my brother. He was starting to bald and then asked me about my hair. I told him that I would tell myself how nice and thick my hair is and also about the shampoo thing. He now has really nice thick hair. PS - This may contradict what I just said but you might want to go to a good health food store and ask them what is a good shampoo. Don't get one for "balding", get one that enriches your hair.

thanks Tony. Wow so you honestly think what you did made a difference for you? And what your brother did really made a difference for him? I mean are talking about visible changes here or something really really small. How did you do it? You just told yourself like 500 times a day something like "I have nice thick hair"? Did you visualize any or what? I want to know the exact way,lol....even what shampoo you used. Thanks alot! |

Yeah, I got the idea from Jack Canfield's book The Success Principles where he talks about how I think it was a 60 year old grey haired man meditated and visualized his hair back to its original color. I think it did make a difference for me. With you I think it's just the fact that your Dad is balding and you grew up around him that has you worried. Tell yourself that you're not your Dad. Your hair is healthy and it is getting healthier every day. Visualize and see it as thick. Actually grab it and feel (maybe a light tug, not too hard) how thick it is. I just told myself nice things when I took a shower and shampood my head. "I love my hair" "It's thick and rich and full" and so on. Do whatever affirmations feel best for you. I got the idea about the shampoo thing from my friend Dr. Goldman. He said people would have dry or dandruffy hair and they would pick up a shampoo for dry hair (is that the right term?). Then when they would be taking a shower they be thinking about their dry hair plus looking at their shampoo for dry hair which would reinforce that idea. Any shampoo for normal hair should work. I would still recommend going to like a Whole Foods and getting a good shampoo (might be like $10) as you'll feel really good massaging that on your head which will help your work.

plus another question Isn't taking action and affirmations/visualisations in conflict in this case? I mean here, taking action means getting shampoo, tonics made against baldness, and affirmations like "I have a healthy hair!". so? I say to myself "I have a healthy hair", then pick up the anti-baldness tonic and use it.. hm? Last edited by MacFly; 06-03-2009 at 02:03 PM.

This kind of reminds me of when I would coach boxers or kickboxers and have them hit a pad with their right hand. I would yell "Right hand strong! Your right hand is strong! Yeah!" every time they would hit with their right hand. All of them couldn't believe how hard they could actually hit when focusing on the pads. I don't think I prevented total hairloss as I don't think I was ever going to go completely bald. I just wanted my hair to be thicker. My brother did gain back a noticeable amount. Quote:
Tell yourself you have healthy hair, touch and feel it as if you do, then take shampoos for normal hair or for healthy hair. Don't take anything that says "anti-baldness" as you don't want to focus on baldness, you want to focus on healthy hair. Another good thing you could do is to cut out and put up a picture of a person you think has good hair. Every day spend 1-2 minutes a day looking at that picture and visualizing yourself with that hair. Your subconscious which controls things like your beliefs, bodily functions, etc.. will begin to get impressed by this new image and go to work on making it a reality in your body and life.

I'd agree with SpongeSue: Focusing on having a positive expeirence re: your hair might be more effective. I'd go further to say that fixating on your hair is a rather limited perspective -- usually hair isn't truly the thing you want. Would you rather be bald and be considered extremely attractive, or have thick hair and still be your ugly self? Just kidding, but you get what I'm saying! I'd rather intend for myself to become more attractive than to focus on thick hair, muscles, etc. There are a number of underlying reasons why you might be fixating on hair when you really want something else:
With the exception of the last one, none of these require hair. Moreover, going hairless will increase the rate of radiant cooling of your head, which can keep your brain from overheating. JK again. I KNOW how hard it can be for guys -- and even more so for women who experience balding! But it's very freeing to get you over that mental block that keeps you worried about your hair. Personally, I would avoid any activaty that keeps you fixated, like some of the exercises proposed above. |

Unfortunately as a woman, I have my own experience with losing hair. For women, it's much worse than men to have thinning hair. I had a spot right in front to that was really noticeable. I don't have any heriditary baldness in my family, I believe it was due to extreme stress for many years. First I removed the stress from my life. I also focused on seeing new hairs growing in. I think that was key for me. It seemed the more I noticed the baldness, the worse it got. So I focused on where it was growing in, and I would see the area of thinning hair is getting smaller and smaller. I would also tell myself, "more hair is growing in" and picture my whole head covered with full, healthy hair. I used to have to comb my hair a certain way to cover it up, but for the past 3 - 4 months, I have not had to do this. My family has even noticed my hair is growing in better, so I know it's not just my imagination. This has taken about two years for it to improve from the worst it has been. |

You can do it. Better check your existing beliefs though. You were raised to believe that the men in your family go bald. You write things like "Do I have to go bald?". That sentence is a thought that will keep you focused on going bald. I would recommend an Abraham exercise called the "Focus Wheel Process". A lot of men have nice thick hair, wouldn't you agree? |

actually I never really thought about seriously going bald until I took a medication that had a side effect of inducing baldness. Then I started worrying etc. Is that method from abraham in the book "ask and its given?" Thanks I can maintain my hair and make it thicker! I will do it, I feel pretty confident I can pull it off. |

Thanks for the ideas guys. I've tried affirmations before and thought that it's not as quick and satisfactory (in terms of results) as I want it to be. The focus on the use of 'normal' or regular shampoo as opposed to 'prevent hair loss' shampoo (so as not to enforce the hair loss thinking) is something I haven't thought of as a complement to the 'thick healthy hair' affirmation. I think I'm gonna give affirmations another try. mej023, I haven't heard of the Focus Wheel before, thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. |

TonyToneTone your answers really made me happy and gave me hope about some different things, changing my hair and eye color to their original colors(by original eye color I mean my eye color when I was born, and by original hair color I mean I had blond hair, but they changed after a while.) Thanks for your answers TonyToneTone.

Ever notice how fat people have the word FAT written on nearly every product in their fridge. : ) I have on my IM list - among other things - "full, thick head of brown hair." I was throwing things out that had gone beyond their useful life for me, and things I no longer wanted. I threw out an old blow dryer - thinking that I would make space or a new one. Funny thing, I started just letting my hair dry naturally. I soon decided I didn't even need a blow dryer. : ) My hair has gotten noticeably thicker - virtually overnight. Concerning my hair; words and thoughts, (and products) that have anything to do with bald, thinning or any of that business - do not exist in my vocabulary. I merely picture (and also feel) what I want - and allow that to manifest. And every action that I take enforces that outpouring. I mean, if we're learning to understand that we can create an entire universe, I'd certainly think that we cuold have the kind of hair - and bodies, as well - that we'd want in our world. BTW, I also lost around 70 lbs in the last year and a half. All I did was IM that I wanted to have boundless energy and freedom of movement in every moment. Out of that, I began training - and teaching - martial arts again. Began eating healthier foods. Discovered that a low-carb diet works great for me. Losing weight wasn't even the goal. Just a very pleasant by-product. Last edited by Dot; 06-16-2009 at 06:43 PM. |
