Default A Scary Question

When we ask our brain questions we get answers. That's why this question is so terrifying... You get answers. I can barely look this question in the eye for more than 5 seconds before I get blinded and have to look away. It is:

"How can I make today the BEST day of my life?"

Then simply accept that this day IS ALREADY the best MOMENT of your life. There is NOTHING to do to "make" it

Your conscious mind looks for "answers" for the future, and looks to understand the past, when you realise that the past and the future are just illusions because as far as I am aware time travel is not yet a physical reality, so then you can accept that NOW IS the best moment of your life.

You can use that concept to bury your head in the sand.

Or you can you can embrace presence whilst ALSO experiencing massive personal growth.

Self-Acceptance vs. Personal Growth

What could you do today to experience massive personal growth?

by accepting ALL (not just yourself, the situation, "your life story") you are growing. Its the egoic limitation that seeks to conceptualise.

There is nothing "to do", just be. Its through "acceptance" and the reduction of conceptualised/left brained thought, that the "true" intuitive thought will come through and THEN correct "action" will become apparent.

Its the cause/effect view of life that "craves" action, the intention/manifestation view is to "remember" and not to "react".

@Plato, great 'scary question'! I find that if I avoid scary questions, it limits my growth. So thanks for frightening me.

What comes into your head when you ask it?

I get flooded with ideas like:

Run a half marathon today... or go out and let 100 strangers know they are loved. Or post dumb messages here.. Actually, the best thing was creating a method that will completely revolutionise personal development and rapidly bring an end to needless suffering in the world.

Here's a fun thing to do:

Imagine a scale of 1 - 10.

1 is feeling absolutely lousy and unable to do anything.
10 is feeling powerful enough to do anything. Like nothing could stop you.

Where are you on the scale right now? I'm about 8 right now. I feel freaking awesome. I could be a 10 though, and so could you.

Get hyped up to a 10 by asking positive questions, changing your physiology into a powerful way. Make a lot of noise, and change state into feeling absolutely amazing. Get to the 10 state.

Then relax.

You'll find that when you relax from a 10 state, you settle back into a '9' effortlessly.

If you relax from a 7 state, or lower, you just feel incapable of taking action.

Fear and excitement. It stimulates me to take action, and that's good for me.

Plato, I'm really enjoying your inquiries!

Although I agree with viking4525 that power, joy and abundance are available simply by being present and accepting in the moment, very often the most powerful, joyful and abundance next right action is to make a provocative self-inquiry, and lead yourself to inspired action.

Accepting is wonderful, and so is inquiring, and so is action! Feels so good.

That's a pretty cool Rosetta Stone for personal growth!

Oh, wait, Steve's already done it: Truth (inquiry), Love (acceptance) and Power (do it like they do on the discovery channel). Wow. The more I get in depth on PDFSP the more those 3 principles pop up.

Default Best Day Ever....

Hi - this is the first thread I have read on the first day I am a member and already feeling really excited...

How about if the question shifts just a little bit to....

"How can I "consciously remember" that this is my best day ever?

That's nice. Very nice actually. It has a smoother taste to it than my question. My question evokes more fear and violent passion, but yours is... like a warm summer's day.

Hmm... what is it so scary about this question? It is in fact a very exciting question for me. Makes me think how to live my life to its fullness.

Haaaa, it makes me think of living life to the fullest too -- and that means pushing my comfort zone in the extreme.

By definition that is terrifying... and you never know where it will take you. Just look at Jesus. Now there's a man who could ask this question. See what happened to him?

When I ask the question I can already see the carrion birds circling over my head.

I feel the crown of thorns on my head. I can practically feel those invested in the status quo turning their ugly beaks... setting the mechanisms in motion that will be my death.

I believe that facing our personal crucifixion is the final test for all of us. That will be the pinnacle of growth in this world.

Default It's Only Terrifying Until You Push Through the Bubble...

Have you ever noticed that the closer you get to the truth of who you are - the scarier it gets - until it's not...

As I read through this thread I am reminded of childbirth...

The pain so intense - for a moment

And then - the delivery

and nothing left except the celebration - the state of unconditional love - and the knowing that all was well in the world.

Last night I sat with a process for awhile where I

opened to remembering that Now is the Best Day Ever

and then

welcoming the resistance to the remembering that this is the best day ever

and back again

until - if only for a moment - all resistance dissolved

and it just became

the best

how cool is that??

In Celebration of the Joy of Remembering That we are already all that we Ever desired to Be....

Some days you just have to clean the toilets.

Not everyday can be the best day of your life. But that's not to say, most days you shouldn't strive for that. But in your striving, don't lose sight of yourself. Sometimes yourself just wants a day to do nothing but chill. No achieving. People that forget that chilling is part of living often have those extreme moments known as "burnout" or those moments where terms like "rat race" get invented.

The question is, can "best" also include not striving? Who defines "best?" Ie: is it only a "best" day if one is actively achieving?
