Observation about the LoA

Something else that comes to mind is what you are doing with the work. Burglars don't do what they do because they don't want to work. I know that sometimes one might think a Burglar doesn't work. But burgling is hard work. It takes a lot of preparation and training, and the act itself is quite stressful. So make no mistake, burglars work. And they work hard. But it doesn't make the profession any less immoral.

The same thing is true about professional gambling. We might go to Vegas for a weekend of fun but if you do it for a living it really is work. Gambling isn't quite as bad as burgling, but at the end of a distinguished career, what do you have to show for it? What did your life amount to? Not all professional gamblers write books. Most of them don't in fact.

I don't mean to make any judgments about the LoA here. Maybe there is a connection. Maybe not. Some comments just made me think about this.

In my opinion, as a person uses the LOA more and more in a conscious way, the natural consequence is that he grows increasingly more conscious of his own life, existence and reality.

This is pretty much inevitable. As you adopt the habit of setting intentions in every area of your life, it follows that you will lead a more purposive, meaningful life. And as a process of forming and choosing intentions, you will inevitably ask yourself questions such as:

What do I want?
Why do I want this?
What doubts do I have about this?
What positive beliefs do I have about this?
How do I feel about this?
What are the implications or consequences, if I were to have this?
How would it affect my life?

And so on. Thus I see the LOA as helping people in their personal development and growth .... (as indeed, any process involving people deliberately choosing and pursuing their goals aids these people in their personal development and growth).

It follows that if one were to apply the LOA in the context of work, or career, the same process of self-inquiry would ensue. It would tend to result in people choosing jobs or careers that are personally meaningful and satisfying to them.
