Default Hawaiian "Neo-Shamanic" technique

I synthesized the method i use for manifesting things intentionally from a few sources and experiences - the crux of it comes from Mayan shamanism, and modern Huna practices that i read about in a book called "Fundementals of Hawaiian Mysticism" (its actually a great read - much less dry than it sounds).

The first thing i do is sit in a "sacred space", a place used for meditation or magical work, anywhere that feels quiet and has high vibes, and clear my mind with some breathing. The second thing i do is to write down, in order of importance, the qualities of what i am manifesting. Then i read over the list a few times mentally, fold it in thirds like a letter and hold it between my hands.
I then take some deep, slow, long breaths (usually 4 or 7 of them) - breathing in for 4 or 7 seconds, holding the breath for 4 or 7, exhaling for 4 or 7, and remaining breathless for 4 or 7s. I make my intention for the breath that it cultivates chi, prana, energy, etc.

Then i visualize the thing i am manifesting, and direct the chi i just cultivated into both the list i have folded in my hands, and into the mental image (it usually looks alot more vibrant when doing this). After i have energized it, i visualize that the picture of what im manifesting gets folded up like a letter, and i send it through my antahkarana* to my higher self using my breath to "push" it along.

I imagine my higher self receiving the letter (sort of like putting in an order), and then i use the above mentioned breathing technique to cultivate prana, which i send to my higher self, again up the antahkarana. I make sure to feel lots of gratitude that it will be done in divine/cosmic harmony, and finish the whole deal off with a few breaths and some grounding excercises. I also like to take the physical list in my hands and put it in a wooden box i crafted for manifesting the energies put in it.

Sometimes i find myself going back to the thing i want to manifest, being attached to it. Well, if you are holding on to something it cant go anywhere. This applies to energy, so when i feel attachment to what i try to manifest i just summon up a feeling of gratitude, and maybe send some chi to my higher self for good measure. That helps to release it.

Lastly, once my intention has manifested, i like to take the list i wrote out of the box and burn it as an offering to the universe - sending lots of love and gratitude as sort of a prayer on the smoke.

The act of giving ones desired manifestation over to the higher self insures (IMO) that it will be done in perfect harmony with divine/cosmic law and the highest good. It helps to override the egotistical or selfish aspects of intentional manifestation that can arise, and helps whatever you manifest to come about in a way that wont cause karmic imbalances or trouble in life.

I have never actually shared that with anyone in full, i hope its put to good use - at least conceptually.

*Antahkaran is a word in hindi/sanskrit meaning "internal instrument", it has come to be defined as the "tube of light" or connection with our higher self. According to D. Melchizedek, it is the circumference of the hole created by the tips of your thumb and index finger touching (jnana mudra).

What is really helpful for my visualizations is usually any new exciting ideas and helpful ideas about manifesting which really gets me in the mood for doing some visualization.

Reading about what others have manifested etc. Proof that it works as well as others having a strong belief in it and having it work for them really makes it more effective for me as it strengthens my belief that visualization will bring me what i want.

Lately I have been repeating the phrase "I have nothing to worry about ever" while imagining whatever I want, as if it is already mine, it is normal and that everything is taken care of.

And also "Get used to it" I repeat while visualizing what I would like so as if it is a normal part of my life. After doing this for a while it does feel more normal and natural to have that thing I want in my life. Like my emotions surrounding what I want become more at ease and comfortable and happy instead of feelings of "I want but can't have" "jealousy" and "depression" about what I want.

It is important during this to not limit yourself. Let go of what you think is possible and just visualize something that you want that you might think is impossible! The reason why I feel such pleasure and so relaxed from doing it is letting my imagination be free and go as wild or as impossible as it needs for me to imagine what i want and the world that i want.

I find myself sighing and taking deep breaths automatically during these techniques, I don't have to make any effort or force myself to take deep breaths.
After A while because of the visualizations and deep breaths my body feels very good and I feel expanded and relaxed and pleasure in my whole body

I think it's useful to experiment with a variety of different techniques.

Among other reasons, some days you'll just not feel like using a certain technique. Then you can fall back on others.

Sometimes I just use plain old self-hypnosis. For those who don't know the wide range of potential applications for self-hypnosis, do take a look at the few hundred examples listed here:

Hypnosis Downloads.com | Online Self Hypnosis MP3 & Hypnotherapy Scripts Center

Hypnosis is of course just another form of LOA.

As ALG,variety is good and what feels good and right on the day, mood.

High emotion manifests best.Favourite music,film clips,photos etc.Then affirm.

Alternative to Roxy's "Get used to it." is "I'll handle it."

I think it's more to do with how much you want something than with the technique but...hmmm...I like listening to my favourite music and then visualize what I want. It's often not intentional; it just happens: what I want surfaces and I see it in my mind's eye.

I found this by accident Andy. I used to visualize a lot being on stage with my favourite band. I was in my teens and I used to listen to their music and see myself on stage, watching the concert from there, seeing the crowd, etc.

That's still my top manifestation to date. It all happened as I'd visualized it and there was no intention of making it happen. It was a fun thing.

I'd never heard of a band doing this (contest to get fans to watch the show from the stage). What were the chances of this happening with MY BAND, and most of all, that I'd win the contest??

HAPPENED.

MANIFESTATION is real.

PS - Shame I did not visualize I'd marry the lead singer. Damn.

Great thread! Great for a personal "book of shadows"/grimoire.

I use vision boards but they're only the first step. I use it to build intent not as the actual release.

I use journals writing entries about the thing as if it has happened - this technique is from 'The Circle' by Laura Day. I make lists of course. I do this over a period of time to build energy and intention into a particular thing, then I do a spell/ritual to "release" it.

I also use self-hypnosis/guided meditation.

Ritual space is helpful because sometimes I really need to get out of the monkey mind to get focused. Ritual and "divine intervention" - I have the typical Chayote's view of deities/egregores - help when I am REALLY IN A DEEP FUNK, feel VERY negative and disempowered, and am obsessing over bad things. Ritual - focusing on building the sacred space and the circle, on channeling/evoking/invoking/whatever, on giving thanks and then on doing my manifestation mojo - will pop me RIGHT OUT OF THAT SPACE. By the time I've thanked/blessed/released/etc. everything I am right with the world again. Typically I'll do this before bedtime, when I can have 8 hours of being nonpoisoned by the news, people around me, the mail, et cetera.

If I am feeling really heavily negative I may need to use ritual. If I am feeling very happy and positive then the manifestation can flow from a simple prayer or looking up at the sky saying "I am ___ today".

Recently I have decided that magick/LOA will be the guiding principle and center of my life - I do my stuff 2x a day.

I also do "positive brainwashing"... whenever I am feeling blue I IMMEDIATELY combat the feeling and treat it as if it is an unpleasant physical symptom. If you have a headache, you would take an aspirin immediately wouldn't you? I use Abe-Hicks processes, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, and I play mp3s of my favorite inspirational material (Abe-Hicks etc.)

By the way - I am fully recovered from years and years of clinical depression and anxiety that required medication. I am not saying to not take medication. It is possible that meds helped to bridge the period between my "depressed-as-f***-whalesh!t-at-the-bottom-of-the-ocean" black mood and now so that I COULD apply this kind of technology. Now I am med-free and more positive than most people around me. But I did need meds to recognize what euthymia (the state of non-depression) actually FELT like, because at my highest mood I was merely dysthymic and didn't know better. Now that I am familiar with the non-depressed state, I am able to work with it and move myself up and down the mood scale. Yes, sometimes I need to move myself down, sometimes I get hyper and want to move down to a calmer/more centered place.

Deep breaths

Exaggerating the scenarios

Fasting

Asking "what am I feeling and manifesting right now?" and listening for a 'feeling' answer

and recently: the game Second Life!

This happened at aerosmith! I visualized it heavily, and they came on my BIRTHDAY, I was front row, resting my arms on the catwalk. Uncanny!

that is sooooooooooo cool.

I actually tried this again but of course knowing how it works can work to your disdavantage due to expectations, etc. But I visualised where I'd be on the concert I went to last year and ended up there (didn't queue early or anything).

The lead singer was touching people's hands, was going to go missing mine, and suddenly turned back and touched my hand (mine only). People around me were like wtf???

So I'd say music power is HUGE. Bob Proctor talks about "putting your favourite piece of music" if you need to raise your vibes.

Basically there are a wide variety of techniques. What you use depends on different factors like your physical surroundings; your mood and so on.

To do the big stuff, I need to get into the deeper mental states. And basically I have a good sense of how deep I am, by paying attention to how I feel. The deeper I go, the more of these sensations I'll have, and the stronger they will be:

1. Pulsating colours in my vision (blues, greens, purples, whites);
2. Tingling sensations in the hands and arms;
3. Sudden little twitches in the muscles (any part of the body);

And of course the mind becomes stiller and more quiet and "deeper".

But there are lighter sorts of manifestation techniques, and many can be blended into everyday activities. Eg suppose I am walking from Point A to Point B. Instead of letting my mind talk randomly to itself on the journey, I select a specific theme (eg "Health" or "Enjoying My Job" etc) and I keep thinking, in a constructive, beneficial manner, about this theme, as I go on the walk.

The mind will wander off. And when I notice that it has done so, I just pull it back to the same theme.

If you use this technique, it's up to you whether you want to be more esoteric, or whether you want to be more "practical". By "practical", I mean that you could spend the time thinking about actual ideas, solutions etc that you can implement, around the given theme.

Happened totally by accident - but I started having real life conversations with random strangers (people on the street, on the bus) and feeling totally normal and at ease with it (like in SL) instead of having the usual expected polite, petty small talk.

Basically SL makes your mind think it's acceptable and normal to do things that you've been conditioned against for whatever reason. Nothing too magical, but it's very effective

It's also very good for focusing your imagination since it is an alternate reality controlled by you.

Oh I see, thats great the changes you have been making then and I hope everything is ok!

That made me think about something, maybe unintentional resistance to desires is caused by attachment, the needing itself. Maybe focusing on an enjoyable activity/s that will result in what you want. (Visualizing the enjoyable actions or "steps along the way" not what you actually really want)

For example, say you would like to be wealthier. If identifying yourself as a wealthy person through visualization....

A wealthy person wouldn't want to, or have a desire to be wealthy because they already are wealthy...

So maybe you could think, what would a wealthy person be wanting/desiring etc and indentify/visualize from that perspective.

Just an idea that popped up !

I am finding more and more that just setting an intention and completely forgetting about it is the best way to manifest something. It's worked for me on several different occasions.

It's the only technique that's really ever worked for me, but it's also the most difficult when there's something you want so bad that you can't stop thinking about it.

I think the best way to rectify 'obsessing' over something is to live in the present moment.
