God on the LoA and why prayers arent always answered

I found this randomly on the web. Karen Kan (lawofattractioninlove.com) says that we need to become like the person we want to attract and here is God saying the same thing. It also helps us to understand why we might fail-its not because 'we arent worthy to be happy.' When we fail, there is always a reason, and when we know that reason we can overcome it.

Years ago, I asked God to give me a spouse, "You don't own because you didn't ask" God said. Not only I asked for a spouse but also explained what kind of spouse I wanted. I want a nice, tender, forgiving, passionate, honest, peaceful, generous, understanding, pleasant, warm, intelligent, humorous, attentive, compassionate and truthful. I even mentioned the physical characteristics I dreamt about. As time went by I added the required list of my wanted spouse. One night, in my prayer, God talked to my heart: "My servant, I cannot give you what you want."

I asked, "Why God?" and God said "Because I am God and I am fair. God is the truth and all I do are true and right."

I asked "God, I don't understand why I cannot have what I ask from you?"

God answered, "I will explain. It is not fair and right for Me to fulfill your demand because I cannot give something that is not your own self. It is not fair to give someone who is full of love to you if sometimes you are still hostile, or to give you someone generous but sometimes you can be cruel, or someone forgiving; however, you still hide revenge, someone sensitive; however, you are very insensitive…."

He then said to me: "It is better for Me to give you someone who I know could grow to have all qualities you are searching rather than to make you waste your time to find someone who already have the qualities you want. Your spouse would be bone from your bone and flesh from your flesh and you will see yourself in her and both of you will be one. Marriage is like a school. It is a life-long span education. It is where you and your partner make adjustment and aim not merely to please each other, but to be better human beings and to make a solid teamwork. I do not give you a perfect partner, because you are not perfect either. I give you a partner with whom you would grow together"

This is for all: the recently married, the ones who have been married, the soon to get married, and the ones who are still looking.

ps. I remember soon after discovereing the LoA, God sating to me 'why didnt you just ask me?' But of course, when we ask we need to be specific. I had asked years ago, but back then I didnt knoiw what I really wanted and hadnt been specific. I had no idea I could have what I really wanted. All the tools I need have come into my ife just at the right time-even a gorgeous man to put on my vision board!

First off, nice post, it adds among the testimonial posts found here in this section of the forum. Anyway, I wish to ask a few questions. Just imagine me to be an inquiring icon or "?"

Did you really talk to God and he/she/it answered? Or is it a voice inside your head(this is the holy spirit according to the Christian faith if it whispers positive thoughts and the devil if it whispers negative thoughts)?

Seirwyn, what you wrote is so insightful, it really is. It really details how I feel, and what I believe. Being raised a Catholic, although can be very spiritual in a sense, but at the same time very limited in spirituality (if that make sense). Now I have come to the LOA, and yes, I do believe the principles of LOA, it actually clarifies my belief in God, and in the teachings of Jesus. It's really not so much of this so-called "law" of attraction, but as Jesus taught, so many times He tried to tell us, not to worry, not to fret, that if you just have faith (believe and know), then you can have whatever it is you want, knock and I will answer, seek and you shall find, ask and you shall recieve. And as you put it about the spouse, sure we may want the "perfect" spouse, and if it was just LOA, then we would have the perfect spouse, but we have what we need to grow, some may say oh really than why I am I alone, or why I am in this horrible relationship, is this what I need. Well of course, no, but that is where your "thoughts" or "belief" of what you deserve, and here in lies the secret, if you align your thoughts, truly, then you will get what you deserve, you will get what you trully need in this life.

After having my child, the child that they say I could never have, the child that all the doctors said was impossible, I understood the love that God had for me. I for the first time understood, true unconditional love. And though I would lay my life down in a heart beat for my child, I will not give him everything he wants, if it does not benefit him. At the same time, he is a spirit of "free will", I can only instill in him, my love, my compassion, my morals, he will come to a point in his life that he will have to make his own decisions, and for me, this is how God see's me. As a child of God, of course He loves me unconditionally, and now I must grow. I KNOW what the wrong thoughts bring, and I also KNOW what the right thoughts bring to. I am I begining to understand, truly understand, the so-called in between.

Well sorry for going on an on... I honestly just feel that I truly coming full circle, meaning, that what I have been searching for so many years, that in born instinct so to speak, of searching for what is real, and true essense of me....

Ok, I will answer all three posts here:
It wasnt me that heard it, it was just someone else and they posted it on the web. I think it was a 'voice in the heasd' type things as most spiritual communication is done in this way. I personally beleive it is God talking to someone, although yes, you can hear other voices as well-your own subconscious, your guardian angel, negative entities, maybe other humans.
but anyway, it make sense so I like it.

I think that you can use the LoA on your own and you might mess it up i.e. get exactly what you asked for even if it isnt what you actually wanted. But when we involve a higher power who knows what they are doing then you know that your results will be better and will be for your highest good.

And finally, what dyou mean that God wouldnt say this sort of thing? What would you expect to hear?

Ah, you wish to be guided by someone higher than humans. I understand.

If I were a believer, this is how I would base my belief. This is how I would filter that voice in my head.

"God is pure light, positive and good." This is my general premise it cannot be altered.

Based on that premise, anything other than that, is not guided by God.

Ex. When you hear that voice saying something positive or helpful to the society, that is God's voice or a good higher being. You can base your LOA guided by that belief.

SOOOO with you there!! Beleif in God dosnt have to mean being brainwashed and believing what your told without thinking about it, although unfortuneatley for many, this is often the case!
Dont stress about God-he/she is a very nice person who is into all that is good for people. As Crowley once said 'Love is the Law.'
