Default Visualization and manifesting

Many LOA books state that you should use visualization to manifest the stuff you want. The question is what if I can't visualize? I can't. Not even after some meditating. I don't see anything. Nor do I daydream in pictures.
How am I supposed to do it then?

yes you can. you can visualize. how you ask? here's a very simple exercise you can do.

1. relax, control your breathing.
2. look around your room and search something that catches your attention
3. having found that item. look at it for awhile, try to digest it's details.
4. close your eyes, try to recreate that thing in your mind.

that's it, now all you need to do is to play with that item, rotate it, enlarge it, add details, remove details and so on and so forth.

if you can see you can imagine and visualize.

It's one thing to do that(i get a vague thing that is hard to keep), but to try to visualize a dream house, apartment, surroundings, the item you want but have never seen in real life. Much much different.

I don't think it's that different. You're putting too much stress on yourself, and not being playful. You think in pictures ALL the time. An item you want but haven't seen? Is it possible to search the computer to get an idea of what it might look like?

Another thing you could try is to create a vision board. You find things in magazines, on the computer etc and put them on a board to use for visualization, meditation. I think the process was discussed here recently. You could try a forum search.

It's likely because you lack clarity about what you actually want. Your phrase, "the item you want but have never seen in real life" is the tip-off. You seem to have a general idea, but no real details to focus on. You can simply desire a "dream house" and use language to describe it, either aloud or your internal dialog.

You got me wondering. How do you day dream if not in pictures?

Do you dream and do you remember your dreams?

Many of the masters point out that it is valuable to use as many senses as we can muster when we are "visualizing". I am an auditory person partnered with a visual person, so I am constantly reminded that we scan the world, and experience the world in different ways.

You should go with you primary sense. If it's not visual, go with what you have. If you want a home, and you are a kinesthetic person, you might imagine yourself in a comfortable chair, with your favorite music playing, and the smell of fresh baked bread or your favorite food coming from the kitchen.... -- Get the "picture?" http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/i...cons/icon7.gif

I have a page that might help.... The secret of the ages: Miracles Start Here

Not really What3ever!

Here's an extensive article I wrote on how to visualize. We all do it regularly.

The key is to do it in a controlled and focused manner: Visualization a Key To Achieving Your Goals.

You can do it!

I once had a problem picturing what I wanted to manifest. I found a method that works pretty well.
It basically involves your verbally describing the image intense detail. Describe it as you would a friend that is over the phone. The more detail you produce the clearer the picture becomes to you. The very first image I described using this method manifested only a few months later.

For the particular concern you've described, you may want to look through magazines, newspapers (and, of course, the Web) for pictures of places that could be your "dream _______." Posting them onto a vision board often helps keep the subject matter and its details clearer in your mind.

If you can remember what you did yesterday and play it in your mind, it means you can visualise too. This is actually the same as visualisation, but it happened to you before instead of making things up in your mind.

If I tell you to think about the yellow rose, can't you see it? Of course you can, this is human nature.

I day dream in thoughts. I don't see anything I just think to myself.
I've been thinking of starting a vision board but it's not much of a use for example let's say I want a certain room to look a certain way with certain objects and of course it would be impossible to find a picture of it.

My dreams are very clear and always in colour. I've never had a black and white dream. I also lucid dream. So I'm kind of puzzled why I can't visualize.

I know I'm not the only one. I've heard that most people can't.

Thanks for the links Strem2 and ZHereford, I'll check them out.

Thanks for the method n vizion. I'm going to try it.

Thanks for your input everyone.

I had the exact same problem. If you try and visualize, it won't work. You need to let it happen. You know when you're bordering sleep, be it because you are drowsing off or just woke from a dream, sometimes you have images that just randomly change a lot? Maybe only I get that. It's a fun and easy way to practice, and you can do it every day while falling asleep. Don't force or make images, just let your mind wander and see what appears
