Many of us have heard the term “raise your vibration”. I’d like to give some more insight into exactly what that means. I’m going to quote from the book Concept-Therapy by Dr. Thurman Fleet: “When one speaks of a “raise in vibration”, he does not mean a change of rate or a greater number of vibrations per second, but rather an increase in the amplitude of that vibration, which results in an increased intensity of consciousness or thought. In other words, the vibration becomes more violent. It is this increased amplitude that we become aware of”. Basically what Dr. Fleet is saying is by concentrating your thoughts on something, for instance the feeling of love, you are causing your brain cells associated with this idea to begin vibrating. The more you concentrate on this idea, the more the cells associated with it will vibrate, and the greater will be its amplitude. |

There are also some who do feel that thoughts differ in frequency not just amplitude. Those familiar with physics will understand that the higher the frequency of different forms of energy the more "penetrating" or "powerful" they are. Greg Braden has published a lot of "stuff" that deal with this subject and even presents his ideas as quantifiable but his method is basically voo-doo science (not that I have problem with Voo-Doo) and should not be taken as fact. Bottom line (pardon the pun) is that he's just selling books. The fact is....there are no facts that support or deny the notion that thoughts have any energetic signature at all. There are postulations that range from some form of magnetism to a purely mental or psychic action to a spirit model. While I certainly believe there is some substance to the ideas being thrown around, I feel more data is needed before making empirical claims. A great little book I have, called "Before You Think Another Thought" Amazon.com: Before You Think Another Thought: An Illustrated Guide to Understanding How Your Thoughts and Beliefs Create Your Life: Bruce I. Doyle: Books Gives a simple, yet interesting look at the nature of thoughts, how they coalesce into beliefs, and how those beliefs shape our lives. It's not nearly as wordy or complicated as Bradens stuff yet somehow left me feeling that I had a better understanding of the subject than all the books on my shelf combined. I don't often plug books or products, but I highly recommend this little gem. Low investment, high return. |
