Default Want a better body? Do this.

Here is a great way to get the body of your choice.

First, I want you to cut or print out a picture of your ideal body. Second, I want to you to take this picture and focus on it for 1-2 minutes a day. By focus, I mean to see yourself as having this body. You could see yourself moving around swiftly, walking confidently, lifting weights powerfully, whatever it is that is in alignment with what you want. Third, as you are visualizing, I want you to really feel the feelings as if you had your ideal body now. Fourth, go and take some ACTION to make your imaging a reality.

Remember this, IMAGINATION is greater then willpower. Or Imagination > Willpower. Most people who want to get into shape are trying to use their willpower to do so. What they’re doing is using their will to try and battle against these strong subconscious concepts they have about how they should look and feel. What they should be doing instead, is using their IMAGINATION to send powerful images to their subconscious to create what they want. As your subconscious controls things like your habits, beliefs, and bodily functions, it will go to work on creating this new in-shape you just as it would have continued to keep you at your current level.

I remember the first time I tried this experiment. Prior to the experiment, I always weighed around 155lbs. Being 5’10 and 155lbs was too skinny for me at the time. After hearing about this exercise from my good friend Dr. Goldman, I decided to put it to the test. I cut out a picture of this big bodybuilder from Men’s Fitness Magazine and pasted a picture of my face over his body.

Every day for about a month, I would visualize myself as having the body in that picture. What was the result? Within two months I had gained something close to twenty or thirty pounds of muscle! In fact, I had gotten so big that I had to lose some muscle as all the excess mass was slowing me down whenever I did my boxing and kickboxing workouts.

I want to add in another note. As I had reprogrammed myself to be this big bodybuilder guy, it was very tough for me to lose the weight I had now put on. It wasn’t until I put up a picture of a new body-type, and started visualizing that, that the weight came off.

Another interesting note was that when I started seeing myself in my new, slimmer, and leaner body-type, I also started visualizing myself as being taller. Sure enough I managed to grow and inch or two and this is while I was twenty-six years old.

So try it out for yourself! And let me know how it goes.

Great advice, Tony

I have found myself quite motivated lately, pretty satisfied with eating mostly veggies, and have started working out again. I just need some help to visualize what my results will be..
so does anyone know where i can find some still photos of Jessica Simpson from the video 'these boots are made for walking' ? She has my perfect stomach in that video!

I do this already. Since I am not that great at meditating/visualizing yet I used Windows Movie Maker and made a little 5 minute movie set to "It's a Beautiful Day" by U2. In it I have pictures of myself when I was at the size I felt best in. I also have pictures of active, healthy people, activities I love and a few quotes that inspire me. I watch it every morning just to remind me who I am. It does work... cuz when it is done I get up and do something, feeling great! I haven't watched it during vacation.... I have been letting less-than desireable foods slip back in and I feel like CRAP. lol I will start watching it again and may make one more so I can rotate. 2009 is my year to focus on seeking and enjoying vibrant health!

Tony, are you kidding me? No disprespect here but you gained 20 or 30 lbs of muscle in a month? I know drug induced bodybuilders who wouldn't be able to gain that much in only 1 month of time! I'm curious to know if you have any pics that showed the difference. I live at the gym (2 different one's to be exact) so I know that 20 to 30 lbs of muscle is a HUGE amount to build in that little amount of time!

I've been lifting weights consistently since I was 14 (even won several weightlifting competitions) and was shocked at the kind of results I had in that time period. Everywhere I went people would tell me how much bigger I got. If I had my pictures (I just moved so don't have any with me), I would show you.

You might be right about the time period though as that does sound outrageous (it was). It might have been slightly more (no more then two months though). I have to go through my old notes and check the exact date and weights. Thanks.

PS - I just edited it to be safe. Thanks again.

I know if I walk 25 miles a day I have a pretty good body. Anything less than that, I don't. I don't think visualizations are going to cut it for me.

Unless you, through visualization, attract circumstances where you can keep your perfect body when walking a lot less
