Default Fear Mongers..

I'm going to start a subject.. which is rare I guess..?

I've been seeing lots of fear mongers lately.. I mean EVERYWHERE... (even here.. spotted 2 in less than 2 threads I looked at.. but I digress that I like that there is some skeptic viewpoints that come around once in a while)

I mean I know the news does it? (that's their job)

But I've been seeing it in a lot of threads.. on the various forums I go to.. I see it done right now on one forum as a justification for someone to say "I told you so" and then give you out rational advice that is fear based..

Fear being defined here as.. the feeling of lack (lack of abundance if you prefer) a negative gut reaction on anyone's part..

I guess I'm just surprised recently how many people go out of there way online to post pessimistic views.. to tell people how to live their lives.. and how there can't possibly ever be a bright side.. cause you know global warming's going to kill us all and politicians will always be dirty and there's no money cause the economy’s melting down.. and you know it goes on and on..

So I guess my question is what kind of fear mongers have you seen lately and in what form.. be it people or even advertising?

There is a new clause on my car insurance policy. My vehicle is not insured for damage caused by terrorists attacks.

Sometimes it's scared people who feel validated in their fear if they can get someone else to worry along with them. For others it's a definite love of bringing people down, either to make themselves feel better about their own situation or to make themselves feel like they have power. This last one is usually unconscious and will be quickly dismissed by that person claiming they say what they say because they're smart.

I know an Internet group of people who are smart, enthusiastic, cultured, diverse, and full of humor. They're also convinced we're all going to hell in a handbasket and there's nothing we can do about it.

I don't read their forum so much anymore. Wish 'em well, but....

Do you believe that by SEEING you are simply observing that which already is in the world, or actively creating/attracting it?

The best way to stop seeing negative news everywhere is to....well.... STOP SEEING it.

You don't have to, it's your choice, but I'm just saying that once you get bored of seeing bad news everywhere, make the choice not to see it anymore.

If you believe that you're not "Creating/Attracting" with your observations, but rather just "Reporting Facts" than you are doing the exact same thing that the news is doing. They don't think they're spreading bad news, they believe what they observe is reality and they are just reporting it. Anyone who tells them otherwise, they just think "Truth hurts, but my job is to just report it. It's not my fault this person died, I'm just here to report it."

There is a fundamental lesson here.

I don't think I'm attracting it.. I think its part of integration.. it's my understanding the closer you get the more you see good and evil ideas in play everywhere.. so maybe before it was there I just didn't notice.. not sure..

And the one conclusive thing I can say that has changed.. as before I would just look at posts like this at get ahh.. well what does that mean? kind of answer.. now I just get most posts about lack as fear sells.. basically I can now read them that way.. I have been able to read a lot more emotion into some posts as well..

Hi TM -

I wish I'd seen your post here before I posted over on World Affairs. My question is "What is the purpose of all the doom and gloom in the media". If you feel like it, please pop over and read it - I'd love your feedback.

Personally, I feel we're being led to believe that all is horrible when it's really just like it was last month, last year, 10 years ago in most ways. But there is a purpose being played out here or maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist... if I'm busy thinking about negative things how can I do anything but bring them about (manifesting them)?

At the same time, if I realize this, I can turn it into thinking positive thoughts and manifest the positive. It's just so much easier to be told what to think rather than choose what I want to think. ugh - this is getting deep.
