Default does physically seeing compare to visualization?

i try to visualize, i really do, but i've never been too good at it.. except when my mind decides to do it itself [daydreaming], and it's usually something negative i'm daydreaming about so i have to quickly snap out of it.

so, does a vision board, mind movies, or having pictures of what you desire compare to visualizing? not saying that i'm going to completely cut out visualizing, but i seem to be able to do better when i'm seeing pictures of what i want physically than visualizing in my mind.

Just a hunch, but I'd think that if you were meditating on a physical representation of your target, that would essentially be the same. Might even make the mental images clearer...

The word visualizing isn't so useful. Not everybody can visualize well, but everybody can imagine in some way. It might be using feeling or imagination of sound instead.

Nope, at least to my knowledge; I know there is a technique involving staring at a candle flame.

Someone well-versed in the subject can surely give other examples...

I like to explain visualizing as recalling a memory. When you are describing to someone else about a picnic you had last summer, you usually do it with your eyes open and describe with words. In your mind, you may be seeing a replay in movie form, you may recall with sensations, in still photo form, etc.

Visualizing comes in many forms, and can vary from person to person. I have mental movies, mind still photos, daytime visions, etc. and it doesn't matter if my eyes are open or closed. There is no set format for visualizing, imagining, etc.

Does this help?

Since it's our constant collective observation of the current reality that holds it in place I'd say that what we 'really' see is at least as important as what we imagine, likely because of our beliefs about the nature of physical reality, our observations of reality are the more effective medium.

I have good idea.

A lot of people try to visualize and THEN feel. I use to do that but I found a better way.

I recommend you be meditating while doing this. Its not hard.

When your mind is clear, bring your emotions into you and then I guarantee you that the image will start to appear.

So try feeling it first.

I find you have to take steps in meditating to achieve proper visualization. I can visualize quite well being that I am used to visualizing a scene to create it in photography.

Meditating is simply letting go of any thoughts - close out distractions - and then once you are quiet (as in shutting up that yammering voice in your inner head) you can train yourself to visualize. I had to use self-hypnosis tapes to get started. Now it's easy for me to slip into the meditative state quite easily.

Next step is to train yourself for "sense memory". It's actually an actor's exercise. Grab sometime with texture, close your eyes and feel it, it's texture and weight. Put it down and close your eyes again, and try to recall what the object felt like. After a while, you can "create" an object in your hands to help with manifesting.

Like holding onto a steering wheel of a new car, new car smell, sound of the engine, etc.

Once you make it "real" it tricks your powerful higher selves into making it true in the "real" world.

I call these methods the lazy-way to visualizing. They work, but then again you could be staring at a photo or vision board and still allow your mind to drift. If your mind drifts, then your focus and feelings drift, which sends mixed desires to source.

The key is to discipline your focus. Develop the natural habit of focusing on your desire. Do this consistently (30 days min.) then your picture will naturally be embedded into your subconscious and continually sending out signals of your desire to source.
