Has anyone seen The Secret? It's pretty profound, they explain it pretty well. I've listened to Earl Nightingale's "The Strangest Secret" which is along the same lines. It goes well with a grain of salt, aka putting things into perspective. People say it's 'everything' but it's not. It's a lot though. If you think about it, do it, and live it, (aka believe & act accordingly) you can certainly achieve it. That's my take anyways. Opinions? It's worth the five odd bucks to watch! I know Steve doesn't suggest a lot of stuff, and I don't either, but this is a good one! |

I've watched it, and thought it was pretty good. It was a little fluffy at times, but the general idea was very powerfull. They played it up way too much, but that's marketing fluff I suppose, and it worked. And you know what? It made sense. It wasn't like "hmm that's neat, but I doubt it would work", but more "wow, I can think of tons of things that follow that." Very interesting. |

I've watched it more than once and I loved it. I agree with Andrew about the marketing fluff but overall it gives a good idea of how the law of attraction works and it's definitely worth watching. I have watched it after experimenting with the LAO myself and I have a feeling that it makes more sense to those who are already familiar with the concept - even though to some people, watching "The Secret" is their first contact with the LOA. I've recommended it to a few friends and I've also talked to people who watched and I got diverse feedback. Some people loved it and "bought into the concept" regardless of any previous experience, but I have also found people who never experimented with the law of attraction and simply think "yeah, right..." That's why I think it makes more sense to those who watch it after having a few personal experiences. But regardless, it's a good place to start for those who are interested in the subject.

Oh yeah, I watched it! I paid to watch it online about a day or two after Steve mentioned it on the site. I loved it! It made me feel really good. It kind of gave me a sense of awe to see everything put together like that. And music always makes everything a thousand times better for me! I wanted some of my friends and family to see it too. Two weeks later my dad bought it, from my recommendation. Him and my step mom watched it and they both liked it. Then my dad let me borrow the DVD and I watched it about three more times with different groups of people who I wanted to see it. My dad already knew about the Law of Attraction, but after seeing that movie, he got really into it. He's changed a lot in the last few months, for the better of course! It's great to have a partner in all of this. We always email each other talking about what we are learning, manifesting, and experiencing. I'm sure glad I watched it. |

I loved it too. I agree about the fluff and it's a bit cheesey at times....BUT, that actually helped me in a way.... The hazy "shockwave" they showed every time someone was sending out an intention actually helped me to visualize the concept a little more. ...now when I find myself in a negative state and want to change my thoughts...I just visualize those hazy "shockwaves" going out around me. LOL....I'm almost embarassed to admit that. Thad |

I watched online it a few days after I first heard about it, and then didn't really do much about it until recently. I watched the extended edition a few weeks ago (and wrote a review) and I must say that the second viewing had a much greater effect on me. I only made a few notes the first time I watched it, but the second time I was struggling to keep up with all the new ideas I was having. Over the next few weeks I want to try some of these ideas more thoroughly to see how they work for me. It's definitely worth watching, and even if you don't believe in the Law of Attraction you can still get something out of the film. |

Its a good film although for me to really get it I had to read Ask and it is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It was the whole idea about recieving that really made it snap into place for me. The asking isnt quite as important because you do that anyway. The only problem then is keeping yourself in a place where you can recieve which means not letting your ego mess things up for you (Read A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle for that). Its hard to stay feeling good. There is a real art to it but I'm getting there. Demk |

I'm having trouble finding it on Amazon.com. There's apparently another movie by the same name that half of the people are reviewing as if it were the right one, and the other half are posting: "warning! This is not the movie you're looking for!"

I've seen the secret.tv. I was slightly disappointed how they presented the subject matter. I would have prefered they explained why it works on a more fundamental level. The way they present it wouldnt have given me confidence in the idea if I hadn't already researched the topic in depth prior to it, and therefore many people might be sceptical on it. The point is, if the Law of Attraction works- what does that say for the universe in which we live? It brings up a lot of questions... Personally I would recommend that you read Napoleon Hill's Think & Grow Rich. It touches on the same matter in a more subtle way. I think I read somewhere that Hill was heavily influenced by Earl Nightingale... To summarise, I want to test out this LOA perception. Has anybody else felt spiritual success from applying this principle? How did you do it? |

Watching it was a real revealation for me, because I had only just started to read about the law of attraction, but there was something about the movie that made me uneasy. It got me excited because I believe that it does work, but underneath the excitement was a feeling that something was fundamentally off. I think it was because it was so focused on self centered applications, like attracting new cars and bigger houses for yourself. I have no doubt that it does work for those kinds of things, but there will always be a flip-side of suffering when your thoughts and intentions are partially ego motivated -- that is, when your will is not aligned with the will of God. When your intentions are based on what you want for yourself, all the things that come with that self will be included: self centered goals cannot be separated from the fundamental belief in separation, the illusion of ego, with all the inherent suffering and complications. But maybe it's a distorted memory of the movie on my part. As I remember it, the message was a bit muddled between spiritual teaching and rah rah peptalk, so maybe I'm blowing the self-centered part out of proportion? |

helgi There is nothing wrong in intending success, beautiful houses and expensive cars for yourself if that's what you want. I don't think there is a down siide to this. You can be good hearted, look out for your fellow man and be wealthy as well. Look at Bill Gates and his foundation. My estimation of him went up several notches after he announced his intention to donate all his wealth to his fund it. I think that is fantastic. Quite a few wealthy people have followed in his footsteps. The more the merrier.... |

I watched it, a couple of times, and it did clarify some things. But at the same time all the marketing hype turned me off a little. They sell regular stones for a lot of money on the website for example. In the movie they tell you that the stones are just normal stones he found in a creek. Then just by naming it "The Secret" they got me to raise my eyebrows. Don't seem like such a big secret to me if there are several best selling authors who have written about it. I read that the whole quantum theroy part of it is so hard to prove (or disprove for that matter) that it becomes a moot point. I have to say I'm not a quantum physicist so my opinion on that matter is a moot point as well However, I still belive that this is a very powerful "technique" (for lack of better words). There might be more to it than I'm seeing. But if I hadn't read Steve's article first I would have totally dismissed it soely as marketing fluff for their books and whatnot. As it is now, I belive that this way enables me to fill my life with what is important and will empower me, instead of what would disempower me. A way to help me clear up my goals. Beyond that I don't care what it is, as long as it works. I have seen some strange things happening as well. At the same time I'm starting to realize that it's more of a lifestyle switch. You can't just do it now and then, you have to incorporate it into your everyday life. It's easy to slip back into negative thinking! |

I think the Secret is doing a lot to bring LOA into the mainstream (like Larry King!) but for myself, I found it to be too big on the marketing hype. But that's just me. I know people who absolutely love it, and that's a good thing, too.

I think that is why adding in contextual elements such as "for the highest good of all" and so on helps to remind us that this is a way to live a life, not just to get a new car or house. And, if a new car or house is part of that and makes the lifestyle better so be it! Most things can be used for giving, loving and unselfish purposes IMO. all best | |

Thanks so much for posting the transcript. I've been watching the Larry King clip over and over again taking notes and I'm still going to continue to do that. But now that you have posted the transcript, I can easily go back and write down things I might have missed before. Thanks again!

The Secret is an amazing movie..I have manifested so many things ever since being on this path....I feel lucky in a way that "I get it"..and want to share it with anyone who wants to listen. Think about it ...all you have to do is focus on what you want and allow it to come into your life..although I admit it can be challenging at times..I am a completely different person..I don't worry about things..I always have money..I can make people appear in my life when I need them..the possibitlies are limitless! |

I got to watch the secret for free, which was part of my intention, and The movie was a really big, WOW, for me. I knew of many of the concepts etc...talked about in the movie, but I never could really "GET IT". I couldn't identify. But, the way these things were presented in the movie was eye opening. So many things I couldn't get, before, suddenly, I could understand. I wasn't bothered by anything in the movie. I don't sweat the small stuff. I was made suddenly aware of all my past thoughts, and worries, and I could easily take all reponsability for everything that has come into my life. All the good, and all the bad. I was able to connect all the dots of my life. I am now empowered to connect all the dots in an aware, and concious, purposeful way. Again. WOW! |
