Default Weight Loss

Can LoA be used to help with weight loss? Has anyone on here used LoA to successfully help them lose weight? If it can help, what sort of visualizations/exercises should I do?

I lost 30 lbs last year. This year however, my motivation is dwindling and I'm back at square one. I may be slimmer, but losing the rest of my weight (50-60lbs) feels as hard as ever...

I know of a number of people who have used the LoA to help them lose weight and, if I recall correctly, Senior Board Member Rose of Cairo did a terrific job on that front for herself. (Search by her name above for details.)

Since this is such a broad and common subject, it depends what you works best for you. Here are some suggestions:
  • People have combined visualizations with their workouts (either right before, during the exercise or simply at bedtime before drifting off to sleep), really "seeing" their bodies respond to the exercises, getting stronger, healthier and leaner.
  • Other people have had great success with affirmations. You can do this throughout the day or during specific times, such as meditation. I know of some people who have countered cravings by "instructing" (through affirmation) their bodies that they enjoy healthy foods at the appropriate times and how they are satisfied with the reduced, healthier portions.
  • Someone told me that Oprah has used a vision board (Oprah fans would know better than I). It was primarily for Obama's election but I'm told that one component of the board was a picture of the gown she was going to wear and her comfortable in it.
  • Another friend of mine swears by gratitude when eating and losing weight. Her thought is, if she's truly grateful for her food, she will give it full attention, savoring it, chewing slowly, deliberately and without distraction. She also swears by being grateful for the weight she's lost in the past (even if it has returned), the weight that she's at now (even if she wants to weigh less) and releases with thanks the extra pounds as she manages her weight. P.S. She never uses the word "die-t" which makes complete LoA sense to me.

These are just some ideas to get your creative juices flowing; I know you'll come up with others that suit you perfectly. Keep up the good work!

I lost 54 lb in 6 moths and am still have my new beautiful body for over 2 years now. I had my "magic" wish blackboard with my intention written on it: "In a healthy, quick and easy way I am 150 lb fit, firm and happy." I read it all the time until it became my mantra and my inner voice. I love me this way so much more, I enjoy it so much more and so do others

I think I literally embedded this picture of the new me into my subconscious so it is how I see myself. Even when I slip up, and it has happened few times 6-8 lbs I just go back to 150 lb so easily.

Don't give up! Go!!! The future is bright and so good!

I have a question to you. So you say that you kept reading that intention and that it kind of got embedded into your subconscious.

But how did it manifest? And now I'm not talking about the end result, but did it also manifest in some kind of new behaviour? Did you get to exercise more, or perhaps you got to change your diet?

Or did it just happen through subconscious 'magic'? (this last thing is not meant negatively. I think it should be possible.)

I went to a nutritionist I new of 2 years prior to this. But I was ready! It happened about a month after I started this thing with the board. So it felt right, I had no doubt or felt hungry...

I remember when I was going to a college counselor about depression. Usually when I went to her, we ended up discussing my health. Throughout the session I would tell her "I need to lose weight", and eventually she told me to stop focusing on losing weight and to focus on being healthy. What's crazy is she doesn't even know about the Law of Attraction, but her advice definitely supports it.

You have to focus on what you want. You've manifested weight loss, but that's not what you want. When I focused on losing weight, my weight went up and down and everything was a struggle. When I started to focus specifically on the body I wanted that felt no stress about weight loss and weight gain, that was healthy in mind, body and spirit this led me to join a gym, hire a personal trainer, and learn about the raw food diet. Also, it wasn't a struggle anymore. I was more motivated to do exercise sessions than my trainer was, and he let me know how much he appreciated my enthusiasm because he didn't see it often with his other clients.
