C'mon, what are your goals for 2007? What do you hope/intend to get out of next year? Mine? I'm glad you asked! The main ones are:

Glad you asked I decided I would put two intentions out as a new years intention but when doing that i didnt actually intend for it to happen in the new year and so the first one has already happened a few times. 1. Make new (real) friends 2. Go meat free (vegetarian) i like using seasonal events to help boost my intention motivation, i generally have trouble with spending the time making quality intentions. I think thats mainly because of an intention i made long ago (to enjoy what life has to offer) so i often find myself enjoying everything but i can always make improvements. |

I've got tons of 'em. ~Get in shape ~Do well in school ~Improve on the drums. ~Improve at drawing ~Beat my rival consistantly in Fencing! (grr!) ~Improve at Go (an Asian board game) ~Expand my consciousness ~Succeed at Polyphasic Sleep! And here's one I came up with last week that is even better! ~Go on Fear Factor and win big money! (This one I consider better because it's definite, unlike most of the others. And it necessarily includes "get in shape.") (And also, "Expand my consciousness" as it requires me to believe I will win it.) You all can watch me on TV before next year is out! (I will probably be starting a thread based on this in the Health and Fitness section.) ~Jm4362 |

My New Year's Resolution is to be a better person, to expand my consciousness to encompass everything on a daily basis, to really understand our true nature, to live and breathe in a joyful manner, to love everyone and everything unconditionally, to become enlightened.

I'm just reading Steves' blog about this very subject... I like that he talks about a "primary focus'. I'm tired, its nearly 1am, so I am gonna need to sit with this and really read it tomorrow to fully grasp it and put it into action in my own life. I want to change or should I say enhance a number of areas of my life, and I'm seeing that Steve is saying that if you have a bunch of areas and health is one-that health should be the primary cause it affects all the others. I think thats true in my case...and I wonder if the others affect my health as well...if I have no $$-I get depressed, when depressed I do nothing but eat, gain weight, etc...vicious cycle=so I guess they all feed off each other. But the weight thing is a huge thing (no pun intended!) cause thats the first impression when you meet others. People judge you by the way you look-sad but true=they can't tell if you are successful or spiritually fulfilled by looking at you but they CAN tell if you are 70lbs overweight. so my goal for 2007 are: 1: to lose at least 50lbs & be in great physical shape, 2: Have a succesful art business 3: have a steady income and be self supportive financially, 4: meet the person I keep having glimpses 5: continue to evolve spiritually and be positive. 6: travel for work and pleasure |

Boy, you guys are modest. With LOA on your side, why not be more ambitious? On 16 December, I started with 40 goals for 2007. After further planning, I distilled them on 29 December into 15 goals. After further refining, I've upped it into 18 goals. Except that I do not call them "goals". I call them "projects". If you're a multiple-goal setting kind of person, one way to manage all the many goals is to take note and make use of the synergy across different goals. For example, if you look at Barbesj's goals: 2: Have a succesful art business 3: have a steady income and be self supportive financially, 6: travel for work and pleasure .... you can see that there could be a possibility to make a business trip somewhere to seal a lucrative contract with an art dealer, and at the same time, set aside a few extra days on the trip to visit art museums or exhibitions in that city, for work as well as for pleasure. There, three goals tackled all at once. |
