So this amazing thing happened to me....

I just want to share something really crazy that happened to me yesterday....

So I have this really difficult class for my major, and a good percentage of the people in my major who take it fail it the first time, and have to retake it. Unfortunately, I was one of those people, and because I'm retaking it, and have to pass that course to take other ones, I can't fail it if I am to graduate as anticipated...So for this class, our midterm was yesterday, and the tests in that class are hell-on-earth. So I had about a whole week to begin studying....And a good friend of mine bought this new video game (Fable II, for the video game buffs...), and his X-Box is in my bedroom....so, I spent that whole week playing the game non-stop...I was thinking about the midterm the entire time too, and I would just think "whatever, I'll be O.K."
So I spent the whole week playing this game, and the yesterday (the day of this test) arrives....and I wake up SUPER EARLY to try to get to school and cram for it, but I only got there about 1 hour before my first class (and the midterm was my second class), and I sit in the computer lab cramming miserably, and not learning anything...regardless, I would not let myself miss my first class (because it's an important class), and I decided to just go, because I wouldn't be able to learn much before the midterm. On my way to my first class, I was feeling pretty crappy...

...and then something hit me. I thought, "NO! Don't be ashamed with yourself...you weren't ashamed when you were sitting on your butt playing video games all week, so don't be ashamed now...I am me, this is what I did, and I am ready to reap the consequences!!" ...and I felt a little better whether I was going to fail this test or not.
So I get to my first class, and it's just one other girl there sitting at her desk...and she's like "is class cancelled?" And I didn't know...so another guy walks in and checks his email on his phone...PROFESSOR CANCELLED CLASS!!!

So I go back to computer lab to study, and studied some of the essay questions that might be on the exam. I set about 10 minutes for each subject, and made sure I knew a good amount of information on each subject before I went on. And before the midterm class comes up, I got something to eat, to make sure I was ready...And I get to class, eat my breakfast, and look over the test the teacher gave us...and MOST of the questions were on the exact things I had studied!!!!

So I did O.K. I doubt I got an A (probably a low B or high C), but I did O.K., and did not fail it. I was elated!!!

I just wanted to share this experience, it was very exalting. I took responsibility for something bad I did instead of being miserable about it, and it worked out O.K. in the end!!!
