Use IM or "Ask your guides"

I just read the book "Ask your guides" by Sonia Choquette. Review appeared in Steve's blog: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...k-your-guides/

Compared to IM, it seems this is a spiritual way of getting what you want in life, by connecting to your divine support system.

I am quite unsure now which approach to use: Imagine that I already got what I want as in IM or faithfully ask for divine help.

Does anyone has experiences to share?

well, i do both. the guides are there to guide you in life, you can ask them questions about the deeper meanings of existence, etc. they wont make decisions for you, neither will they tell you what to do or do it for you, only give you guidance. You could say they are there to assist you in deciding what direction to go in order to develop yourself further. IM doesnt give you guidance, it is simply a tool of manifesting what you want. i hope that clarifies it a bit..

Guidance may be exactly what you need to quickly fulfill your dream. I also read that angels, not only could provide guidance, but could influence your life positively. In that sense, that could be an effective alternative to IM.

yes, you may need guidance, however, if you rely on your guides to do things for you (which they wont) you will depend on them to create your happiness. this is a distraction again and can slow down your development if you get too reliant on them. thats why i personally believe that IM is important to practice beacuse it keeps us creating our own relaity. yes guides can bring positivity into your life, however guides and IM are two very different things. one guides you in taking the steps necessary to achieve your goals, and the other is plain manifestation of your desire. there is no need to choose one over the other, its a bit like saying, should i buy a vacuum cleaner or a kitchen scale? they do diffrent things.

Try not to think of them as supreme beings of God, or divine creatures. I think that when you view them like this, you actually feel stupid asking "Divine creatures" for silly things like money, cars, girlfriends/boyfriends...If you think of them as just like a manifestation of the Intention Manifestation process then you can see they don't have the same social bias we have towards the worthiness of certain things, Arch-Angels in particularly don't care because they have no ego! So they don't differentiate between world peace and a parking space

That's a very important point. A Course in Miracles also makes this point. In it's eyes both world peace and a parking space are both constructs of the Ego anyways.

It's kind of like asking "an operator" for something inside "The Matrix". They don't really care if they help you download instructions for flying a helicopter, for building a bomb, or give you directions to the nearest church. They are well aware that "The Matrix" isn't really real, so they don't care what you ask for.
