| I'm not really sure how to ask this, but I am wondering if anyone has done a "starter intention", i.e. a small request that you definitely believe is plausible? Personally, I've put out some intentions and I'm seeing possibilities of them being fulfilled, but I'm pretty sure my logical brain is working against me. I'm wondering if anyone has done a "baby steps" approach, requesting something believable, which then feeds back into your belief that IM works, allowing you to up the ante. It's funny, but belief isn't a light switch you can just turn on, you know? |

| Sounds like a good approach. I'm not sure I believe in intention-manifestation, but your approach would probably be the best way to start out with a small amount of investment to test the waters. If it works, try again and raise the stakes a tiny bit. As you suggest, each success would likely build your belief, and it seems that your level of believe is what makes it work. |

| Starting with something small is a great idea. In fact one of the best things you could try is to break down your life into 6 categories: 1. Health 2. Wealth 3. Career 4. Relationships 5. Contribution 6. Spirituality And then write out a few intentions within each category of your life in the present tense. Nothing big, just something useful like for example lets take the Wealth category for example. You might write down an intention like "Advice on Investment Choices flows to me from multiple sources." or in the Health category "The Right Health System for my body type is now in my life." or in the Career "Opportunities to advance in my career present themselves regularly to me." Start with stuff that's not very specific but it would be cool and you'll start to attract them. Of course a skeptic might say it's just your Reticular Activating System kicking in and noticing what was already there before but it's not a bad place to start. Once you manifest a few little things you can get more specific.

| Paul.... just curious as to why you recommend he NOT start with something very specific.... I really like the 6 category idea and starting with something from each area of lie. I'd "intend" something very specific. I'll give you an example and PM it to you

It's a very detached intention, and the universe can send you whatever amounts of financial abundance it feels like. Sometimes it might be $5 from a very weird and unlikely source, or maybe it will be a large amount that you wouldn't have even asked for. It is not an intention that will prove to you that IM works because of the specific nature of what you asked for and that you got it, but if you're not really worried about proving anything, but just want to jump into getting the benefits of LoA and IM, it's a good way to start. It's kind of like letting the universe give you what IT thinks is best for you. THen, after a while, if you still want something more, then ask for it. I.e. Lets say you intend "I radiate and receive love in all my relationships." there are millions of ways the universe could manifest that, whereas if you specifically ask for "My kids listen to me." or something like that, you could have had that PLUS 100 other things. THere is no specific reason I didn't suggest going into specifics, except that it's a good place to start. Finances: "Financial abundance flows to me naturally." Relationships: "I radiate and receive love in all my relationships." Health: "I am getting healthier every day." etc. are all good intentions to have out there as a starting point while you figure out specifics. Once you figure out a specific, you can combine it with the generic ones as well, for example: Health: "I am getting healthier every day. My body weight has normalized at ____lbs with ___% body fat." or something like that. I'm sure you guys remember this one : "Everyday, in every way, I'm getting better."

| How's this for an intention? "I will wash the car today". The basis of I-M is that anything that now exists in our reality first existed only as thought. You won't wash the car today if it never occurs to you to do so. If it does occur to you, there's a chance but no guarantee. If it does occur to you and you're determined to make it happen, there's a very good chance that you will wash the car today. Deciding to "wash the car today" is still I-M in action. If you're having trouble accepting I-M and want something simple to start off with, try something like that that you have direct control over. "I will not brush my teeth for three days straight" or whatever. Then try for something that is not in your direct control, but you have no trouble believing could really happen. "I will find a parking space right outside the shopping center". If it doesn't happen today, try again tomorrow. That's one of the key points about I-M: never take "no" for an answer! Best of Luck! I'm tired, so "I will brush my teeth then go to bed and have a glorious uninterupted sleep that will be a model for sleepers the world around" |

| You can't really "test" intentions. It makes it sound like you are unconvinced that it will work. The Law of Attraction basically says that you can manifest anything you want as long as it's congruent with your thoughts. It may take a while to manifest if you think it's a big request! I would focus on having faith that the Law works by trying the following: * Parking spaces * Manifesting $1 to come into your life unexpectedly * The perfect cup of coffee or tea The best way to work with the Law is to start small. Work up to the bigger things once you accomplish the small stuff. |
